Made these cracker crisps using my sourdough discard today. The hubs has been asking for them for a week, so I decided to bake some today and share the recipe 😊. If you make sourdough bread, this is a great recipe to use up your discard.
4 Ingredient Everything Bagel Crackers
> 1 cup sourdough discard
> 2 tablespoons melted butter
> 1/4 teaspoon salt
> Everything Bagel seasoning
…Preheat Oven to 350°
Mix together your sourdough discard, butter, and salt. Line a large baking pan with parchment paper. Pour your mixture into the lined baking pan and use a rubber spatula (or other preferred kitchen tool) to thinly (and as evenly as possible) spread out your cracker mixture. Sprinkle on a generous amount of Everything Bagel seasoning, then place in the oven for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, pull your pan out and score your crackers (across and down), so they will easily and evenly cut apart after baking (I use a metal pastry scraper, but you could use a knife, pizza or pasta cutter).
Bake for an additional 10-18 minutes. Remove from the pan & cool on a rack lined with parchment paper. They will continue to harden/crisp up while cooling, so do NOT stack until completely cooled. Once cooled you can stack & store.
6 Ingredient Cheddar Cheese Crackers
> 1 cup sourdough discard
> 2 tablespoons melted butter
> 1 cup freshly shredded cheddar cheese
> 1/4 teaspoon salt
> 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
> 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
…Preheat Oven to 350°
Mix together all ingredients, then spread thinly onto a large parchment lined baking sheet, place in preheated oven, and follow baking & scoring instructions as listed above. Note: if you find these aren’t as thin or crisp, you may need to leave them to bake just a few minutes longer, just keep a close eye so they don’t burn.
