You wouldn't know it by the weather today, but winter is right around the corner. This year I'm selling mixed hardwood as firewood for my Derry FFA project. For a metal crate the price will be $100 locally delivered (10 mile radius). $90 picked up at the farm. 2 crates equal approximately a cord. I'll be cutting all of fall. I currently have 4 crates available.

We're back into the 'swing' of things here. Good way to vent frustration and clear your head on the farm. And yes, sometimes I'm the labor on this venture to take advantage of the weather. We're scheduling for the end of next week as we have some customers who have been waiting on us to get better weather. Message or call the farm to setup a delivery.

Sorry folks. After this week and all the rain, on top of the snow melt with no good sunlight to dry out, we're putting a HOLD on any firewood until we get dried out. I've never seen this unrelenting wet in February. We are in limp mode on the farm in general, and the livestock needs come first. When we are back online, I will make sure everyone knows. Thanks for your patience.

These boys have not been employed in the firewood business...yet. But it's in the works that they earn their keep dragging some logs out, or possibly our canoe loads if there's some snow on the trail. They are right to left, Turvy, Red, and Ben (the mule). Logan and Charlie ride these guys whenever they can.

Our next load is available Saturday, and right now next week is open. No matter what the groundhog says tomorrow, you can bet we still have some cold days and nights ahead. Maybe a romantic fire for Valentine's Day, or every evening, is in order. Some real heat beats the winter blues...Keep it PG now, we know you are just snuggling on the couch. 😏

I guess we need to explain some boundaries where we can deliver. We can see a whole lot of western PA from the top of the hill on our farm, but we don't deliver everywhere we can see.

We have delivery included for a 5 mile, as-the-crow-flies, radius. We also can deliver, but have an extra charge based on your address, for a ten mile radius. Outside of the ten mile radius, to be honest, we have to draw the line. We're a farm first, and there's lots of work waiting for us when we get back. We do appreciate the potential business, but at that point, we're just adding too many hours and miles, even if we charge for both. And right now, especially with the weather, we don't offer pickup. The truck goes into the field and woods to collect the wood, and my livestock are in there. So, pickup is not feasible. Summertime will be different for those who prefer to haul their own.

Thanks again for supporting Logan's FFA project.
