In many Tunisian villages, traditional fabrics and colors reflected the region a family came from. Different towns carried their own woven patterns, colors, and cultural identity.

The fabric worn here, was woven by my husband’s family decades ago — part of a weaving tradition passed down through generations.

These stories and artisan roots continue to inspire the textures, craftsmanship, and Mediterranean spirit behind The Weavers Door.

Postcards from Paris 🇫🇷

I visited the Fondation Azzedine Alaïa — dedicated to the legendary Tunisian designer whose work transformed fashion through craftsmanship, structure, and imagination.

Walking through his preserved atelier felt almost suspended in time. Fabrics, textures, sketches, and worktables still surrounding the rooms as though he had simply stepped away for the afternoon.

What stayed with me most was the deep sense of craftsmanship behind every detail.

A beautiful reminder that great design always begins with human hands.

We didn’t expect to switch… but now we won’t go back.

Fouta towels have been used for generations across Tunisia because they’re lightweight, absorbent, fast drying, and beautifully versatile.
