Our oyster mushrooms have been a staple in local supermarkets for years, but we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes. We are thrilled to announce that our brand-new retail packaging is officially launching, with the first flat headed straight to in Willits! This redesign is all about quality—extending shelf life at the store and keeping these beauties fresh in your fridge at home. We’d love to hear your feedback.

Farm life is in full swing with spring's arrival, and we're loving the challenge. Keeping production going, sending food to market, perfecting our skills, and upgrading our setup is demanding, but it's what gets us out of bed every day, except Sunday, that one is for cheese making and laundry.

NEW PRODUCT LINE!!! 🍄☕️

We are now bagging up our very own farm-grown herbal mushroom teas!

A few weeks ago, we were enjoying our morning routine of coffee and a scroll through Facebook Marketplace when we came across a complete teabag-making setup. We contacted the seller and made a deal that same morning for a mix of cash and trade, scheduling a pickup for later in the week.

We took "Flatty" down to in Santa Rosa, where we met up with Mikey and Dona, who helped us load up the machines. The filling machine came with a commercial grinder, a compressor, and a pallet of rolls of paper teabag material. There was so much gear that we couldn't even fit it all in the first trip! We picked up the second load just before Thanksgiving and dropped off 20 CSA boxes for the Organicann employees as part of our trade deal.

After finding a new home for the equipment, the real fun started. The first puzzle was getting the right amount of electricity to the filling machine; we learned everything there is to know about 220-volt plugs and Amazon’s return policy!

Without an operating manual or a single YouTube video to guide us, Mic went through every part of the hardware and software to figure out what each k**b, button, valve, and setting does. After a solid 10 hours of tinkering over three days—and approximately 2,000 test bags—he got it to work!

Today, we ran our first production test with great results. The tea is bagged, labeled, and will be at the last Laytonville Farmers Market today! See you there!

"IT'S GREENHOUSE TIME!! 🌿✨ One of our absolute favorite times of the year! There's something so magical about starting seeds and laying the groundwork for the entire growing season. It's still pretty soggy and chilly outside, but inside, it's a warm, bustling hive of green potential. We're getting our hands dirty, prepping our soil, and dreaming of the harvests to come. Spring, we're SO ready for you! 🌱

January recap, 2025 sgarted with a few weeks of beautiful sunny days and freezing nights. We took the time to clean up the homestead and fix things that broke last season, plus lots of other fun projects. Feel rested, ready, and excited for another season.

- Blasted into the new year at Lake Tahoe.
- Made a few batches of biochar.
- Thea and Brady looking for acorns.
- Candelabra tree hike during an impromptu camping trip to Usal.
- Started to build a cooler for the Laytonville node
- Repaired fence at my moms for her giant puppies.
- Shaped and covered some bed just before the incomming storm
- got to watch baby goats being born as well as some piglets.
