Laminate is becoming increasingly popular, but it doesn’t last as long. Is laminate the best choice, or is hardwood flooring going to ultimately be better?

The hardness of a wood is rated on an industry wide standard known as the Janka test. The Janka test measures the force required to embed a . 444 inch steel ball into the wood by half its diameter. This test is one of the best measures of the ability of a wood specie to withstand denting and wear.

Now you ask what's the hards wood floor I have ever worked with, Brazilian Walnut. I think sanding Granite would have been easier. The downside of wood floors that hard is the expense to sand it smooth. It takes 4 times the effort and materials.
