100,000-MILE SERVICE FOR A BEAUTIFUL HAND-KNOTTED WOOL RUG!
Before: Tired, heavily soiled, and showing its age.
After: Refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready for many more years of enjoyment!
One of the wonderful benefits of owning a quality hand-knotted wool rug on a cotton foundation is that, with proper professional care, it can last for generations.
This beautiful rug arrived at our cleaning plant with considerable accumulated soil throughout its wool pile and cotton foundation. Its cotton fringes were heavily soiled, worn, and weakened.
Rather than simply giving the rug a quick surface cleaning, we treated it to what we like to call its 100,000-mile service!
Our comprehensive restorative washing included repeated dusting, extensive flushing with copious amounts of fresh water, shampooing both sides of the rug and fringes with our proprietary blend of professional rug shampoo and conditioner, additional flushing and rinsing, climate-controlled drying, post-dusting, and final detailing.
And what a difference the fringe work made!
By meticulously trimming and detailing the worn, uneven fringes, we gave this traditional rug a neater, more contemporary appearance.
Shorter, neatly finished fringes aren’t just attractive. They’re also easier to live with and maintain!
The result? A beautiful hand-knotted wool rug with a new lease on life.
That’s the beauty of investing in a well-made rug. With proper maintenance and occasional professional attention, these rugs can provide decades of enjoyment.
At S.K. Hamrah Carpet & Rug Co., we believe fine rugs deserve more than ordinary cleaning.
We don’t simply wash rugs. We help preserve them.
Clean rugs last longer, feel better, smell better, and look better.

Where quality is expected and never a surprise.
For the photographs, I recommend a four-image presentation: the entire rug before cleaning, the heavily soiled fringes before treatment, the entire rug after washing, and a close-up of the newly trimmed fringes.
