This room wasn't messy because the owner wasn't creative.

It was messy because there was so much creativity happening that the space couldn't support it anymore.

Kellie from Diggin All Dawgs and I tackled this studio together in about 4 hours.

Lots of sorting.
Lots of trash.
Lots of decisions.

Now there's room to actually create again.

That's my favorite kind of organizing.

Not because everything is perfect...

Because the room can finally do the job it was meant to do.

Sometimes letting it go to the thrift store is the best way to honor the item and your space. Let it live on with someone who wants it and will use it, and clear up your space for YOU.

We don’t talk about this enough… 💛

One of the biggest reasons people struggle to declutter isn’t because they don’t know what they want to keep.

It’s because they care too much about where everything they don’t want should go.

“I’ll save it for my sister.”
“I need to find the perfect nonprofit.”
“I don’t want it to end up in a landfill.”

These are all kind, thoughtful intentions. 🤍

But when those intentions keep unwanted items in your home for months (or even years), they begin creating clutter, stress, and mental weight that you carry every single day. 📦🧠

One of the hidden benefits of working with a professional organizer like MelRose is that you don’t have to choose between your peace and donating thoughtfully. 🌿

Whenever possible, we research local nonprofits, coordinate donations, and do the heavy lifting so your unwanted items can go to the right place without becoming your burden. 🤝💛

Once you’ve decided you no longer want something, don’t let the search for the perfect recipient become a burden on you.

✨ Prioritize your peace.

This is still one of my favorite client quotes.

No, she didn't actually sleep in her garage.

But after years of avoiding the space, she suddenly wanted to spend time in it.

That's what happens when a room goes from being a source of stress to a place that supports your life.

A tidy home isn't about impressing people.

It's about creating spaces you actually enjoy being in.

Sometimes that means you'll find yourself hanging out in your garage just because you can.

Closets tell stories.

Sometimes they're stories about busy seasons.
Sometimes they're stories about putting everyone else first.
Sometimes they're just years of "I'll deal with it later."

This closet took about 2 hours to transform.

Along the way we found cash, expensive watches, old keepsakes, clothes that no longer fit, and even things left behind by the previous homeowner.

A couple of baskets.
One hamper.
A few trash bags.
Some donations.

Nothing extravagant.

Just giving everything a home.

One of my favorite parts of this project is that before we even started, we uploaded the "before" photo into ChatGPT to help visualize what the space could become.

Sometimes seeing the possibility is enough to get started.

"Exceeded expectations, as always!"

People often think organization is about having a perfectly clean desk or an empty inbox.

Sometimes it's that.

But sometimes it's helping a leader create quiet, intentional time to focus.

It's carving out space on the calendar to move big initiatives forward.

It's identifying what only they can do—and empowering them to delegate the rest to very capable people.

Over the past few months, Morgan and I have worked together to tame inbox overwhelm, build sustainable systems, and establish rhythms that support her work instead of competing with it.

A few weeks in, she shared that she had checked more things off her to-do list than she had in months.

That's my favorite kind of organizing.

Not doing more.

Creating enough breathing room to do what matters most.

❤️ All Heart. Zero BS.

I love this real look at trying to tackle a garage solo. It's always better with more hands, right Christina Sweeney?!

"You're so OCD – I love it!"

I laughed when Kip said this because what he was really noticing wasn't perfectionism.

It was attention.

Attention to the little things.

Attention to patterns.

Attention to where systems have broken down and how they can be tweaked to work better for the people using them.

In just two hours, we reset a space that already had a good foundation. Life had happened, maintenance had slipped, and a few new categories had emerged.

No judgment.

No giant purge.

Just putting things back where they belonged, creating homes for what didn't have one, and getting rid of the obvious trash.

Sometimes that's all it takes to make a space feel good again.

"Yay. I want to stay in this closet forever!"

Honestly?

That's the goal.

Not magazine-worthy perfection.

Not color-coded hangers.

Just spaces that feel so good to be in that you actually want to use them.

Mission accomplished, Luke.

"Everybody hire her. She's going to change your f****ing life..."

I laughed out loud when I read this.

Truthfully, I don't change lives.

People do that themselves.

I just come alongside them when they're overwhelmed, stuck, grieving, busy, in transition, or simply tired of carrying the weight of too much stuff.

Together, we make decisions.

We create systems.

We make room for what matters.

And sometimes, we become friends in the process.

Thank you, Taylor, for trusting me in your home and for this ridiculously kind review.

❤️ All Heart. Zero BS.

I hear the word “hoarder” thrown around really casually

“i’m basically a hoarder”
“your clients must be hoarders”

and i get what people mean—
things feel out of control

but clutter and hoarding are not the same

clutter is incredibly common
it’s usually a mix of time, energy, and delayed decisions

hoarding is a clinical condition
and it requires specialized support

I don’t work with hoarding cases
not because they don’t deserve help—
but because they deserve the right kind of help

most of the people I work with?
they’re overwhelmed, not broken

and when we stop labeling everything as “hoarding,”
we make it a lot easier to actually do something about it
