California casual, but make it Lake House. 🌊 You like?? 😀

Mel here... I'm obsessed with the color pops. 🤩 This is for our in-progress lake house project in Lee's Summit. Our awesome clients have a fantastic lake house, but it's stuck in the 80's. Incredible views but the interior feels yellow, beat up, and closed in. They want their space to feel bright, cozy and fun.

SO - operation remodel is a GO and we've been sharing behind the scenes in our Stories. Thought you'd like to see the aesthetic: Colorful California Casual Lakehouse. It's a relaxed coastal style, but with more personality than plain white-and-beige.

Think warm soft whites, natural wood tones, cozy wool + velvet textures, collected art, deep ocean blues, sea-glass greens, a little black for contrast, and just enough playful color to keep it from feeling too “theme-y.”

This is the kind of layered, livable design we love creating for families in Lee’s Summit and the Kansas City area. It's collected, personal, and still comfortable for real life.

Motherhood quietly weaves itself into everything we create — the way we care for people, the way we make spaces feel lived in and loved.

Beyond the job sites, client meetings, designs, and blueprints are reaching little hands, endless snacks, bedtime books, whispered prayers, and hurried hugs on the way out the door.

While building spaces for our clients, we’re still holding space to build a life of our own with our kids.

Today, we’re especially grateful for the clients who trust us to hold all of these roles — general contractor, project manager, designer — but always, first, a mom.

We kicked off a new remodel in Lee’s Summit and this space is about to get a serious transformation. Think better layout, elevated finishes, and a design that actually works for our clients life 🙌

Saving this bathroom color palette for later 👇
SW Natural Linen + SW Rosemary + Calacatta Idillio quartz.

This spa-like bathroom remodel in Lee’s Summit was extra fun because our client is a fellow design lover. She came to us with a beautiful vision for her space, and we had the joy of helping bring it to life. The finished result feels calm, clean, and timeless. It's exactly what you want in a bathroom retreat.

One of our favorite details is the color palette. The walls are Sherwin-Williams Natural Linen, a soft warm neutral that keeps the room feeling bright and relaxed. The vanity is painted Sherwin-Williams Rosemary, a rich earthy green that adds depth and just the right amount of contrast.

The finishes pull everything together with a mix of champagne gold and matte black hardware for a modern layered look. Plus that wood plank ceiling. 😍😍😍

This project also turned into a true Lee’s Summit collaboration, which we love supporting:
