Welcome to lake life.

Sometimes you need a place where the only thing on the agenda is enjoying the view, spending time together, getting comfortable, and staying a little longer. This lakehouse was designed to be that escape. A place to slow down, recharge, and leave the everyday behind.

Behind the relaxed feel was a large scale renovation and redesign, transforming the home from the ground up. From reimagining the spaces and updating architectural details to selecting finishes, furnishings, and layers of texture, every element was thoughtfully designed to create a home that feels as beautiful as it is comfortable.

One home, many vanities, each with a personality all their own.

Which one is your favorite?

We created bathrooms that feel connected to the overall design of this home while still giving each space its own character. Rich wood tones, statement lighting, wall finishes and beautiful stone are all hallmarks of these thoughtfully designed vanity spaces.

By varying the finish materials and placements we were able to create completely different looks while maintaining a cohesive feeling throughout the home.

This home is designed for quiet moments and grand gestures!

Today was photography day, and we loved seeing this beautiful project come together through the lens. From layered neutrals and rich textures to thoughtfully selected artwork, custom drapery, and beautiful architectural details, every element works together to tell the story of this home.

We spent the day styling each space and collaborating with our talented stylist and photographer to capture the light, the details, and all of the special moments that make this home feel complete.

We can’t wait to share more of this beautiful project!

Photos may look effortless in the finished images but behind the scenes, it is anything but!

We spent several days photographing this whole-home project, and these moments capture what goes into making every shot just right. Styling, adjusting, editing, fluffing, stepping back, reconsidering and sometimes taking a well-deserved break!

It truly takes a team and the collaboration is what makes the magic happen! From the incredible J&L design team working through every last detail, to our photographer and stylist bringing their creative eyes to each composition, to our wonderful client graciously opening their home, every person contributes to make it happen!

As designers, we spend months and sometimes years creating a home, selecting everything from architectural details and cabinetry to furnishings, fabrics, lighting and accessories. A photo shoot is the final chapter. It is the opportunity to slow down, look at the completed spaces through a different lens, and capture all of those carefully considered details.

Exhausting? Absolutely. A little chaotic behind the scenes? Sometimes. Worth it when we see the final photographs? Every single time.

We cannot wait to share more from this very special home.

This laundry room was thoughtfully designed to serve the entire family, including the four-legged members. From the black farmhouse inspired sink and classic checkerboard floor to custom cabinetry, generous work surfaces and the perfect space for dog crates, every detail was considered to make daily routines effortless.

We love creating hardworking spaces that don’t sacrifice style! Even the dogs deserve a beautifully designed room.
