From starting solids, to appeasing picky toddlers, to getting a meal on the table in 30 minutes, we want to be your go-to resource! I'm a Registered Dietitian with my Master's in Public Health and Nutrition. Food is my life. The name, "Bucket List Tummy" came to me while reviewing my never-ending list of coffee shops, restaurants, food trucks, farmer’s markets and dessert places I want to try, whi

ch is mostly what my bucket list is –with some adventurous, outdoor scenes thrown in! My bucket list is basically my itinerary for myself, and it guides me and helps me to explore a new area. What better way to explore than through food and culture? My life seemingly revolves around food, and that’s how I really enjoy life to the fullest. I believe that food has so much more purpose to our lives than just helping us survive, build muscle, provide nutrients – yes, all of those things are essential. However, food also brings people together, brings happiness and satisfaction, and creates memories. I wholeheartedly believe that all foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle. Come along for the ride!

Baby #4 is a…..

GIRL!! Meet Stella, the crew’s newest edition! The older kiddos (well all of us, of course) are completely smitten and Stella has no shortage of helpers and big sisters vowing to hold her AT ALL TIMES 💗🙏

We somehow made it 3 days past our due date this time around ‼️, and this little chunk was born at 4pm on Friday, August 21 at 9 lbs, 6oz!

A dreamy, relatively quick, yet eventful daytime labor and birth at home. While I was fully prepared to meet this baby weeks before her due date, she made her debut in her own fashion 🎀

So thankful for this healthy baby, for the Loudoun Homebirth & Healthcare team and for Hilary being an amazing calm leader throughout! Thank you to Heidi DC Birth Photographer+Filmmaker for being a part of it and sending the sneak peaks, can’t wait for the rest 📸🎥

Out of the office for a bit, enjoying this fragile newborn bubble, lots of snuggles and hopefully loving ☕️ again.

Here’s to Schlichter, party of 6 🎉

The first week of school is not the time to try out all the new recipes you’ve saved this summer!

It’s a big transition for the kids and yourself, so be kind. Our mornings are way more hurried and tired 😜Easy meals can be just as nutritious and take up wayyyy less mental space!

As a mom and dietitian who specializes in family feeding, these are some of my tried and true easy favorites during stressful times.

Comment RECIPES and I’ll send you all of these ideas + recipes!

You’re not a bad mom if you rely on some frozen meals or meal shortcuts. The transition back to school can be exhausting for kids and parents alike!

Follow Sarah Schlichter, MPH, RD | Easy Weeknight Meals for more realistic feeding advice and tips!

And there are so many healthy frozen foods and convenience food options- there is no shame in using them if you need to!

As a dietitian, I just look for a carb, protein and veggie!
Precooked rice, frozen or microwaved sweetpotatoes are easy, quick, nutrient-rich carbs! Pair with rotisserie chicken, a frozen meat/veggie mix or whatever suits your preferences.

One thing I really focused on towards the end of this 4th pregnancy was my freezer stash of meals. It seemed like a necessary thing to do – and to help take the ease of myself and my family in those first few weeks!

Before baby arrives, future you will be so grateful for a stocked freezer. I’m excited to be partnering with Northeast Beef Promotion to show you how I made 3 easy meals with 3 pounds of ground beef!

👉One of my favorite ways to make postpartum meal prep easier? Buying and cooking beef in bulk. Not only is the cost per pound often lower when you buy larger quantities, but it also gives you flexibility to prep in the way that works best for your family.

You can:
🥩 Cook it all at once and turn it into several freezer-friendly meals (like I did here), or
🥩 Portion it into 1-pound packages and freeze it to use throughout the coming months.

Either way, you’re saving time, reducing last-minute dinner stress, and often saving money too. That’s a win in my book.

Here’s what I made:
- Mediterranean Greek Meatballs
- Cheesy Taco Beef Pasta
- Hearty Chili with Beef and Sweet potatoes

Comment RECIPES and I’ll send you them all!

These freezer meals provide high-quality protein, antioxidants, iron, fiber and other nutrients to help support recovery and make nourishing yourself a little easier during those early postpartum weeks – or even surgery, or stressful seasons.

If you’re here for my sagacious wisdom…🙃😄

I’ve thought about these a lot this year. Turning 40 feels big. And as I sit here expecting a 4th baby any day now, I’ve had extra time to reflect since I’m not taking a big 40th trip (that will have to wait!) ☺️☺️🙏

Basically, 40 is not old but just the start. Sorry for thinking that was old when I was a kid, mom and dad!Lots of good things to come 😀😀 I’m more clear on my career, on motherhood and on what really matters.

These are in no particular order, I kinda wish I organized them better but welcome to my mom brain!

Comment LIST if you want me to send the full 40 to you!
