From ordinary to extraordinary: The complete transformation of 6 Giovanna’s Way! ✨

When we first got this project, one might think—“It’s a new construction, it’ll be easy—just furnish, decorate, and launch!” But not every new build is created with short-term rental functionality in mind.

The challenge? While the floor plan was thoughtfully designed to capture the spectacular views, the two floors were disconnected. The lower deck—where we envisioned key wellness amenities—was only accessible through two bedrooms. As designers, we always walk the space through the guest’s eyes, considering not just the aesthetics but the flow and functionality of the experience.

So, we reimagined the layout: we connected both decks with an external staircase, added a wood-burning firepit, and created a dedicated platform for a sauna—instantly turning the lower deck into a destination of its own.

The rest of the home underwent a stunning transformation—from bold black accent walls and dramatic contrast, to warm wood tones and energizing pops of color that keep the design cohesive yet dynamic.

When we first saw this property, it was steep—literally and figuratively. Sitting on a challenging slope with an uninspiring layout, it lacked the character and functionality needed for a true vacation retreat. But we love a good transformation, and we went all in! 🔥

Here’s how we turned this space into an amenity-packed getaway that’s now a sought-after vacation rental:

When we first walked through this property, it was a classic case of a bad flip—bead boards, flimsy construction, and a very basic rental-grade look that already felt dated. But we knew its biggest strength: a stunning lakefront location just 30 minutes from Downtown Asheville. With the right vision, this home had the potential to become a high-end luxury rental, perfect for families looking for a serene escape.

Our focus? Creating an outdoor oasis. Guests would naturally spend most of their time outside, soaking up Asheville’s beautiful weather for 7+ months of the year, overlooking the lake. That meant landscaping had to be the star of the show—and it was! 🌿

Inside, we infused coastal and lakefront vibes, layering in warm wood tones to contrast with serene blues, completely transforming the home from a plain, vanilla-white, characterless space into a warm, inviting, and luxurious retreat. The difference is night and day! 🌊✨

The results speak for themselves: In just 3 months post-launch that too after Hurricane Helene, this rental has already secured $125K in bookings—and that’s with only 44% occupancy and no major holidays booked yet! 🤯
