Midge is quite the intrepid traveler and while she’s been all over the world, her suitcase shows her favorite two places - Lewes DE (the place she was born and still calls home) and Paris where she took a couple of weeks recently to climb the Eiffel Tower – but wow, what a view when she made it to the top!

Midge is a slave to fashion. Her suitcase is the latest from the Golden Rose collection and was made especially for her. She travels relatively light: her favorite tee, her evening cocktail dress and of course her bathrobe and slippers. She always carries her favorite book, Stuart Little, and makes sure Ben the teddy is by her side to snuggle up with at night. It’s quite the life, and she has many tales to tell.

After her last long trip she has checked into Shore Marketplace in Lewes DE for a relaxing break - drop by for a cup of tea and a chat.

I made an Olivia for my debut at the West Side Creative Market on Memorial Day, and a very happy Laura and her daughter took her home with them within an hour of opening!

I always get kind of emotional 🥲 when somebody falls for the divine Olivia as she takes a long, long time to make, and we bond over that time. I guess I need to think along the lines of fostering her until she finds a new home, right? Thanks to Wondrous Variety - Art & More by Teresa Rodriguez for taking this happy photo! What a day!

This is Polly, and she will be crawling around West Side Creative Market at 19826 Central St, Rehoboth Beach from 5pm to 9pm TODAY - a dreary Memorial Day. No worries, there will be a canopy, covered paths, live music, a Thai food truck, and a bar. All that’s missing is YOU! Free parking!! Don’t let the weather keep you indoors, put on your dancing shoes and come on over to check out some local artisans and make my horseshoe crab a jolly Polly!

The original Polly was made a few years back as a commission for a good friend of Bill Walton, the author and illustrator of a wonderful book. You can read about Polly in the image below. She is being sold along with the book, both great for young kids (and adults)!

They’re back…!

Mama Lento and her cute cub Sid live an idyllic (and very, very slow) life in the sloth sanctuary near Cahuita in Costa Rica, although they would fit in nicely in Lower Slower Delaware don’t you think?! They travel slowly from tree to tree using canopy vines and tend to snooze most of the day. Did you know sloths are super strong? From the moment they’re born they can lift up their own weight with just one arm, and they can lock their arms around a branch and just fall asleep upside down. Even if they fall, they can do so 100ft without injury! Even their digestive system is slow, it takes a week to digest a leaf and they only poo once a week! But when they do poo you’d better steer clear - it weighs around a third of their weight. Sheesh! TMI?!

Lento and Sid are in the inimitable Shore Marketplace in Lewes DE. Make sure you carry an umbrella just in case Mama Lento and Sid are hanging overhead as you pass by! ☂️💩🤣

Folks, I’ve been absent for a while…. getting ready for my debut at this fabulous market! I will be there Monday - rain or shine! There will be a canopy to keep you dry while you browse the local artisan spaces, eat, drink and enjoy fabulous music. Come on by and say hi to me and other local artisans (like my amazingly talented friend Wondrous Variety - Art & More by Teresa Rodriguez - don’t let the rain keep you indoors!
