Coastal Design Pro Tip:
Use an area rug as your ⚓️
A good (right sized!) rug can be used as the anchor to help focus a room. For coastal beach homes - I tend to choose washable ones like this Ruggable option… not only does it aesthetically help make the sectional, coffee table, and accent pieces feel like one intentional conversation space, but it can be tossed in the wash following a weekend of house guests with sandy toes.
When choosing a rug, make sure at least the front legs of every major seating piece sit on it. It will instantly makes a room feel larger, more cohesive, and professionally designed.
