This sketch was created by Charles Morris Young. (1869-1964). It is a sketch of the house used by General Meade for his headquarters during the Battle of Gettysburg. It is signed in his own hand.
He grew up near the Cemetary Ridge Battlefield in a family of not so modest means. Cultured but very poor.
He sold his sketches, paintings and wood carved walking sticks to the tourists that were flocking to the town that witnessed the horrors of brothers fighting brothers.
My parents were both born and raised in Gettysburg.
Charles Morris Young’s works in and around Gettysburg are notable in every Civil War collection.
This artist went on to do some great works around the world….and it all started on the blood soaked sacred grounds of Gettysburg.

Hold on to your dream like treasure tucked away in an antique chest. Gently open the lid to the chest each day and visualize the life you desire with a silent undoubting faith.
No one else can see what you already know to be true.
Never…ever doubt your soul.
Unshakable belief and trust is not ignoring reality, but it is about building a better reality within and then the outer reality changes by moving mountains and opening doors because of that energetic desire and faith.
It all starts the moment you choose to believe.
Real faith is a choice to move forward in spite of doubt and in spite of hearing the word NO.

Dolly Parton had such faith as young girl and her possible success was filled with insurmountable odds against her.
But, She believed without any doubt.
She knew she was destined for greater things.
Her treasure was a written word and a voice that needed to be heard. She alone did change the world and she sent out so many ripples that she could no longer be ignored.
She showed us that faith resides in the heart that chooses to believe!
