Out-of-bottle smell (OOB) only tells you how a fragrance behaves at room temperature.
Once it goes into a candle, everything changes. Heat, wax chemistry, wick size, and combustion all affect how fragrance molecules release into the air.
Some fragrances smell very strong in the bottle but fade when burned. Others seem subtle OOB and become incredibly strong once the candle is lit.
That’s why experienced makers don’t judge fragrance performance by bottle sniff alone — we test it in the final product.
Strong scent and clean burn will always matter more than first impressions.

One of the bigger risks I see makers take is selling a fragrance before they've tested it in their own wax, wick and container. Even the best fragrance oils can behave differently depending on your setup - and testing protects your brand, your customers, and your safety.

Strong scent and clean burning will always matter more than trends.

Late spring / early summer testing is officially underway 🌿☀️

Before any fragrance ever makes it into our lineup, we pour and burn test it in soy wax to make sure it performs beautifully — clean burn, strong hot throw, and full scent payoff.
