National Horror Movie Day happens on October 23rd in the hopes of celebrating a good fright! Today is the perfect day to promote the beauty and cathartic thrills of being scared by great horror movies.

Halloween is in the air bringing together fans of witches, ghouls, zombies, monsters, spiders, and pumpkins. Stores are filled with everything Halloween fans love. In fact, Halloween is a time when an abundance of horror movies are available for viewing in theatres and on streaming apps.

A good horror movie knows music plays a critical role in creating unnerving tension. In fact, the right kind of music and sound can heighten a scene and scare anyone who is watching. One of the most defying moments in horror movie history was the music and sound effects playing during the film Psycho. Without the effects of spine-chilling sound and music, Psycho would have been just another film.

National Nut Day is observed annually on October 22nd. This day is NOT about the neighbor that lives down the street or the co-worker who sings with their headphones on. It is a food holiday celebrating a healthy and nutritious snack.

Nuts are a highly prized food and energy source and are a primary source of nutrients for both humans and wildlife. Many of them are used in cooking, eaten raw, sprouted, or roasted as a snack food, and pressed for oil that is used in cookery and cosmetics. The fats found in nuts, for the most part, are unsaturated fats, including monounsaturated fats.

On October 22, we celebrate the vibrant and powerful role color plays in our lives on National Color Day! This fun National Day is a time to appreciate how color affects our moods, communicates ideas, and adds breathtaking beauty to our world.

Color is a silent language understood by all. Long before we had names for them, colors served a purpose, sending signals that are still deeply ingrained in us. A street light turns from green to yellow to red, directing the flow of traffic without a single word. The flush of color in a friend's cheeks can signal embarrassment, while the hue of a patient's skin can give doctors clues about their health.

In the United States, we associate different colors with specific emotions and ideas:

Red often suggests excitement, love, and strength.
Yellow can represent happiness and competence.
Green is tied to nature, relaxation, and good taste.

This food holiday is dedicated to growers in the UK and around the world to promote the rich cultural and historical significance of apples, as well as the importance of orchards and apple-related products in agriculture and heritage.

There are over 7,000 recognized apple varieties globally. However, the number of apple varieties in the world is vast and can be quite challenging to quantify precisely. There are thousands of apple cultivars, each with its own unique characteristics in terms of flavor, appearance, texture. Because we use apples are used for a variety reasons, such as fresh consumption, baking, or c***r production, new varieties are continuously being developed.

Not all apple varieties are widely known or commercially available. Many apple varieties are regional specialties, and their cultivation may be limited to specific areas or orchards.
