The most successful interior design projects rarely happen because every decision is easy. They succeed because there is a strong partnership between the designer and the client. Great design is a collaborative process, but collaboration doesn't mean everyone has the same role. Just as clients rely on us for our expertise, we rely on our clients for their openness, trust, and communication. When both sides bring those qualities to the table, the result is a design experience that feels rewarding from the first meeting through the final installation.

As you search for an Interior Designer, you probably have a list of qualities you're looking for. Well, we also have a list of qualities we look for in potential clients. Want to know if you'd meet them? Read this week's blog and listen in to this week's episode on our Charm & Circumstance podcast.

There is a noticeable difference between something that was made to last and something that was simply made to sell. It isn't always obvious at first glance. In fact, two pieces may look remarkably similar in a showroom or online photograph. But time has a way of revealing the difference. A drawer that still glides effortlessly after decades of use. A chair that remains just as comfortable years later. A beautifully crafted cabinet that becomes part of a family's story instead of ending up in a landfill. Craftsmanship is one of the most valuable investments our clients can make because the quality hidden beneath the surface is what ultimately defines the life of a home.

Read more about the details we look for in well-crafted pieces on the blog.

Even more than designing a beautiful home, I want our clients to walk away confident they made the correct decision in selecting us for their project - from design details to the experience as a whole.

I'd love the opportunity to do the same for you.

My paint pick is neutral. My excitement about being featured in Martha Stewart Living? Considerably less subdued. 🤍✨

I’m thrilled to share a favorite from the AMI paint palette: Benjamin Moore’s Dove Wing OC-18. We used this beautiful neutral on both built-ins and a kitchen banquette, and I love how it brings softness and warmth while letting the room’s richer colors, collected pieces, and architectural details shine.

It’s elegant, versatile, and very comfortable sharing the spotlight. Basically, the ideal dinner guest in paint form. 😉

Swipe to see it in our work, and save this one for your next project. Would you try Dove Wing in your home?

If you ask ten people what an interior designer does, you'll likely hear ten different answers. Some imagine choosing paint colors and pillows. Others picture a fast paced television makeover completed over a weekend. Social media has introduced a new generation of self proclaimed design experts who seem to transform spaces overnight with little more than instinct and a camera. While these portrayals are entertaining, they often leave the public with an incomplete understanding of what interior design truly is. One of the most valuable conversations we can have with prospective clients is explaining the depth, education, and expertise behind the profession.

Read what we have to say about the topic on the blog.

As the seasons begin to change, we naturally start thinking in layers. We reach for a favorite sweater, add a throw blanket to the sofa, and light a candle a little earlier in the evening. Layering creates comfort, interest, and a sense of completeness in our daily lives. The same principle holds true in interior design. Some of the most inviting spaces aren't defined by a single beautiful feature. They're created through the thoughtful layering of materials, textures, and light, allowing every room to feel rich, balanced, and effortlessly collected.

Read more on the blog about how we use layering through materials and lighting in our projects.
