🎉 Front porch REVEAL!!! 🎉
It has been a looooong time in the making, but we built this porch and I love it!!! If you’ve been following along in stories today, you saw the little trim and decor touches I added to get us ready for fall (the weather is cooperating and I’m here for it!). Aside from landscaping, that’s it for our front yard on this house. It feels SO GOOD to check that box!

Here they are!!! These thrifted chairs got a quick weekend update with some paint and clear coat, and I can’t tell you enough how much I love them. As I alluded to, this is step one in a few steps toward a new eating area in our home — I can’t wait to get started on the rest, but for the moment I’m busy cuddled up with my littles and a movie.

Happy Saturday, y’all! This is one of my favorite views first thing in the morning, curled up with a cup of coffee (and lately, my almost 6-year-old). This weekend is all about prepping for my girl’s birthday party tomorrow and continuing to get my workouts in. BUT if I have some time, y’all can bet I’ll be trying to fit in the beginnings of our kitchen hinge replacement situation.

Friday’s are my Saturday. Naturally, I try to be productive. Except today I’ve gotten all of two things accomplished 😆 But our sheets are clean, and our dishes are done so here’s a pic of the kitchen as it stands currently, which as we all know will not last. I’m here to enjoy it for the moment, though.

See those hinges on the upper cabinets? Yeah, those are my next project — they need to go! I’ll be installing hidden hinges soon which, if you watched my bathroom cabinet revamp, you know is no small task! I love old houses, y’all, but man, there’s always something to have to figure out...

Let’s talk tables for a sec. I looooove this table (it was a craigslist find from years ago that I refinished), but I’d also really love to have the eating area in the kitchen. It seems like it would make way more sense considering you currently have to walk through our daughter’s room to get from the kitchen to the table (small space problems). The thing is, this table is way too wide for that to happen.

So my options (if I go down this road) are to a) find a new table that fits or b) modify this one to fit. I’m leaning toward option 2 because I love this table so dang much. But essentially I’d have to cut the table in half lengthwise and then reattach the legs and apron... Either way, I want to paint the chairs black and build some built in seating in the kitchen. Which makes this project seem kind of huge.

What do you think? Worth it? Too much work? Y’all know I’m usually up for the challenge!

So this piece started in the family room but it’s true home is here! I love how this turned out, and I love that it cost me nothing! Yep, you read that right. Nadda!

If you’re anything like me, your style is constantly evolving in small ways. As mine trends toward modern with a little bohemian and farmhouse thrown in, I definitely want to keep the warmth of wood, but not necessarily on signs. This black frame MADE the abstract art! It was a total last minute decision, but I’m glad I went for it.
//
Little things like that or repurposing what you already have are some of my favorite things projects — essentially breathing new life into something that already exists, like this wood sign turned artwork! Let me know if you give it a try!
