Today we start September’s KAL. This month we will be doing another designer focused project this time using the designs of Joji Locatelli. There are tons of designs to choose from including projects from past knit alongs like the Odyssey Shawl and the Hipster Shawl, also tons of new options that we haven't tried. This KAL will be happening at the same time as Joji's Fall KAL so we strongly suggest you jump over to her site and register for that as well. If you need help deciding on a pattern, Joji has made it extra simple by providing pattern bundles to help you narrow things down- https://www.ravelry.com/designers/joji-locatelli/bundles

All ReBelle knit alongs are free and open to the public. You are welcome to attend as many or as few of the KAL sessions as you like.

Twenty years of ReBelle meant it was time for a new design to celebrate our Roaring 20’s. Big thanks to Sara Turner of cricketpress for taking our idea and bringing it to life. This week at ReBelle we are starting our fall class schedule. On Tuesday, join Susan in making the Cosy Quilt Socks by Natalie Shelton. These socks are a great way to use up some of those odd balls in your stash while you learn basic colorwork skills and sock construction. On Wednesday, Susan will be teaching her monthly Project Help Session. This is the perfect class if you are stuck on a project or a technique and it covers knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning, embroidery so bring your problems and Susan will provide solutions. Then on Thursday afternoon we will be beginning our August KAL, Joji Locatelli, where we will focus on the designs of Joji. Thursday evening, join Susan and take on the Rabea Scarf, a small scarf with a little more excitement than the Sofie. You will learn to use some cabling techniques to create a ruffling effect while using increases and decreases to shape this delicate neck accessory.

Join us at noon today via Zoom as we wrap up our August KAL/CAL featuring Short Rows. Whether you choose a project with a traditional short row shaping like socks or a sweater or you go with something more adventurous like short row colorwork, this is sure to be a fun month. Each person will pick their own pattern that falls in the category of Short Rows and we will knit/crochet them together.

Robyn created a Ravelry bundle with several pattern ideas if you need some help finding the perfect project- https://ravel.me/spingirl/srf . She is also available if you need help finding a pattern for a particular yarn.

Another great week to learn something new at ReBelle. On Tuesday, Susan starts a new session of her Sweater workshop where you pick the pattern and yarn you love (with our help if you need it) and bring it to class. While you knit, Susan will guide you through sizing, customizing, and finishing. Whether this is your first sweater or your tenth, this is an excellent way to improve your knitting skills. On Wednesday, Raellyn will teach you how to crochet in the round, combine stitches to create more complex structures, and you will learn how color choices affect the overall look of your motif in the African Flower Hexagon class. Then on Thursday afternoon we will be continuing our August KAL/CAL, Short Rows, where we will focus on making knit and crochet designs that use short rows for shaping, texture, or colorwork. Thursday evening, Susan will teach you how to knit 3 shawl shapes- a triangle, a crescent, and a scrappy rectangular shawl (complete with twisted fringe,) all knit by repeating the same row for the whole project in the One Row Shawl Class.

We just did a huge spinning/felting fiber restock and in addition to more colors and specialty fibers, we added some great holiday-themed felting kits for Halloween and Christmas. We also restocked the butterfly needle felting kits that teach you to felt on a water-soluble base and create a wire skeleton for more life-like pieces. These kits come with everything you need so they are the perfect grab and go project.

Just in- we have some fresh colors of Wonderland Yarns & Frabjous Mary Anne! We just love this yarn, and apparently, y’all do too because we were down to almost nothing on the shelves! We’ve got 8 variegates and 4 of their Colorbursts, which are perfect for assigned pooling projects. Mary Ann is a 85% superwash merino 15% nylon fi*****ng weight blend in a hefty 114g/475yd skein. It’s perfect for socks, shawls, or really just about any project that needs a fi*****ng weight.
