I am in my happy place today.

It has been too long since I have created something and with Christmas just around the corner, I need to get started on my list.

I bought this trunk at the 3 Mile Auction and it was missing the lid. In order to complete my vision, I not only made a top but also feet. Then I nourished it with Wise Owl Paint Furniture Salve.

LOVE IT!! It will reside at the end of my guest bed to hold the linens and blankets.

It has been a busy summer! Anyone else??

Finally back to creating unique items for my home. This box is missing it's lid but I have a vision for it. I am building a lid for it that will function like a seat. Then add some 4" feet and I will have a storage bench to put at the end of the guest bed. It will be a great place to store linens and extra blankets for that room.

In the wood shop today using up miscellaneous lumber from my scrap pile. I am building an entryway bench to match the coat rack that we made in class last year.

Say it isn't so!

I have heard of using Wise Owl Chalk Synthesis Paint on pieces that were outdoors without sealing them. So I had to try it.

I painted this last summer and it baked in the sun. Then I left it outside all winter under the eave of the roof. It got wet occasionally but never soaked.

I am shocked at how well it looks a year later.

PSA....It is garage sale season so don't second guess yourself in picking up that solid wood furniture.

I bought a set of chairs like the left. With the help of Wise Owl Furniture Salve, I turned it into the one on the right.
