Tracey & Shelby’s Story

Tracey Crist & Shelby Favorite are a mother-daughter team who founded Rae Lynne Creations in April 2018 after an attempt at redoing hand-me-down furniture. After doing more research on chalk paint, we found Dixie Belle and projects became easy. We knew instantly that we wanted to bring this line of products to our community, start empowering others to create and do DIY projects without limits. The fastest, most dramatic and affordable option to redoing furniture or creating art in your home is Dixie Belle Chalk Paint. We are here to support, teach and empower you - YOU CAN DO IT! Our classes are casual, fun and always a great place to meet new friends. We want each of our clients to feel at home when they are in our shop. The most important thing is our Golden Rule- THERE ARE NO RULES. When you sign up for a class, YOU get to decide everything about your project so that it reflects your unique style. We want to celebrate your individuality! We are very blessed to have two locations, one in Liberty, Indiana and the other in Centerville, Indiana. Our Liberty location is the newest addition, which opened in November 2019. Here we host all of our classes, carry the full line of Dixie Belle Products and have lots of home decor & paint-your-own-projects. Our second location is in Centerville, Indiana inside Warm Glow Candle Company. We have been a vendor in Warm Glow Candle since April 2018 and have absolutely loved being able to work with another small business. In this location we carry the full line of Dixie Belle Paint products as well as some unique home decor items. About Tracey: I have lived in Liberty, Indiana for 30 plus years where I raised my daughter and son and where I met my very supportive husband. I have always been in a profession where I have taught adults or children in various aspects. I never thought of myself as the ‘artistic’ type but learning to use Dixie Belle Products has totally changed that! I am very blessed that I get to go to “work” with my daughter and have the flexibility to still enjoy time with my horses and dogs.

About Shelby: I grew up in Liberty, Indiana and spent several years living in costal North Carolina. I have always had a passion for being creative, at the top of my Christmas list every year was “art supplies”. One year I even talked my mom into doing a paint splattered wall in my bedroom. I love having lots of different projects going at once, so I can bounce around from project to project trying different techniques. I feel like my artistic style is constantly changing. If you would have told 18 year old Shelby that one day she would run a business based in art, she would have laughed at you and said ‘no way!’ Today I am very blessed to be able to run this business with mom, who has always supported me.
