The Forest Service extended the Roadless Rule public-comment period by 15 days, which means we now have until October 6 to weigh in. Federal Register Public Inspection

This is one of my favorite forest roads near home. My husband and I bring our dog out here, walk, breathe, decompress and remember that these places belong to all of us.

And this is exactly why public lands aren’t an abstract political issue to me.

Want to do something before Tuesday?

Go to Regulations.gov and search FS-2025-0001. Submit a comment telling the Forest Service why roadless forests matter to you… where you hike, camp, hunt, fish, explore, get your drinking water, or simply why you want wild forests to stay wild.

It doesn’t have to be an essay. Make it personal. Make it yours.

Deadline: October 6.
