This was a fun piece to work on. Gorgeous Pearljam silk screen print needed an equally awesome frame design. Stacked one of Larson Juhl's largest MARAIS II profiles with a glossy blue frame from Fotiou as a liner, then cut this triple mat to contour to the shape of the image. Finished off with museum glass, and this piece is stunning. Just got picked up, and the customer was very pleased with the result. Had a blast working on it, and look forward to working with this customer again soon.

I don't follow sports at all, but apparently a few weeks back the Boston Celtics had a big win that was many years coming. Customers Tom and Amy attended the last game of the series, and brought in a newspaper, some photos, and a baggie full of confetti, looking for a creative way to display the items. A green mat solution seemed a bit too "every day" for the design... then I remembered the basketball textured mat from Crescent. They loved the look, more so when I suggested cutting grooves to mimic the lines on a basketball. This created a cool background for the newspaper and photos, which were all copied, reprinted, drymounted too black foam core, then cut to size with a reverse bevel. The photos were glued to the basketball background, with scattered pieces of the confetti. But what to frame it in? The perfect frame came from RK Splines, with this gorgeous green stained maple with white splines. And this was the result. Tom just picked it up a little while ago, and was thrilled with how it came out. I had a blast designing and building this piece, and hope Tom and Amy enjoy it for a long time.

Little something we've whipped up for the Central Falls Police Department. Did a similar job for them back in 2013, and it was time for an update. A total of 94 openings!! Just need to grab the brass plate with the year 2024 to attach to the top of the frame, and this big 'un can head home. :-)

It's always a thrill when Andres Mercier from House of Mercier visits, because I know he'll have something amazing to share. Andres and his lovely wife visited the shop on Tuesday, and brought these beauties, which I immediately snagged and installed mirrors into. Absolutely stunning leather frames sized 24x36 that would look awesome over a sofa or other large furniture. The corner blocks on that center frame are reverse painted glass, which is a great accent on the simple paneled profile. The gray frame is a soft, supple leather very similar to some couch styles, and is even stuffed, furthering the sofa-like appearance. The buckle frame, Andres tells me, was inspired by a designer purse he'd seen, and would look awesome in a rustic ranch themed room. Each of the framed mirrors are priced at $950, and are available in the shop now. They are currently unwired, but can be wired for vertical or horizontal display when purchased. Mirrors not your thing? Any of these frames can be added to your choice of artwork sized 24x36 (or smaller, with matting). Come check them out soon before they disappear.
