Appalachian was inspired by my summer in Robbinsville, North Carolina, where I spent time reconnecting with the mountains, the people, and the history that shaped my family for generations. After the loss of my Gammie, I felt drawn to the place where she grew up, a place filled with stories, quiet roads, old porches, and mountain views that still carry their presence. Through watercolor, I wanted to capture not only the beauty of Appalachia, but also the feeling of remembrance, belonging, and returning home. And now the Appalachians will always have a deeper feeling of home.
