At J.Plum Home we aim to bring brightness, warmth, and style into your home with refreshed furniture finds, home decor pieces, and custom creations. A husband and wife team based out of Naples, Maine, we scour the state to find pre-loved furniture pieces to restore and redesign with a fresh look that honors their original details. In our travels, we also find vintage home decor items that we add t

o our collection. We love hearing stories and history about the pieces we find and always try to pass them on. With both our furniture and decor, we embrace the combination of old and new. We enjoy bringing fresh life to older pieces, as well as enriching new things with the history and age of previously loved items. In the end, we aim to create a cozy, welcoming space - both in our home and yours! We are always open to custom projects! I’m having a lot of fun leaning into this “odd, uneven time” in the store right now. Figuring out how to layer moodier, cool weather inspired decor in with remnants of lingering summer.

Just like these days in Maine, a seasonal transition in your home doesn’t have to be harsh. Leave your favorite summer things out a little longer, bring in pieces of fall that make you look forward to the season ahead. Richer colors, forest-inspired patterns, an extra pillow or blanket or other cozy item around the living room. If you want more inspiration or ideas, pop by the shop and let’s figure out this transition time together!

Today was a painting day, with so many projects both big and small being worked on! And good thing too, since three pieces of furniture sold - and multiple more put on hold. You guys are keeping us BUSY and we are so grateful for it!!

Whew, the hardware finally arrived for this stately tall boy to be *officially* available! (That’s what I get for only measuring the top two sets of drawers…starting three drawers down, the pulls got .5” larger 🙄).

Wanna know a fun “secret” about this piece? Look at the bottom right foot closely. There is actually a chunk missing, but because the bureau rests on casters behind the wood, it still sits level. We didn’t even realize til I was painting it, and honestly, we kinda love the fun hovering look it gives.

At the end of the day, we embrace the quirks in our all of our furniture. It all comes preloved, having lived other lives before us, and hopefully going on to live many more after. These little marks are all part of their story! Of course we want it to function well, serve its purpose, and be a useful and safe part of your homes. But otherwise what some may see as imperfections, we see as unique characteristics that make these one-of-a-kind pieces fun!
