Hello Friends and Family! Can you believe that it’s December already!? Wow! We are so blessed! 2025 has been a great year. One of our sons got engaged to a wonderful young lady! Our other son and his wonderful wife had our first grandchild! And we will be moving back to Ohio in the next few months where we will be close to all of them. Yea!
Another blessing is that I’m still enjoying making pottery. I just added about 20 new pieces to my Etsy site. I am very thankful for the class that I’m taking and especially for the teacher. I am learning so much. Here are a few pictures of the pieces that I just added to Etsy. And here’s a link to my Etsy site if you want to check all of them out.

Hello. Ya, it’s been a while. Not much, how ‘bout you?
Yes - it’s been a long time since I posted anything about pottery! I am definitely still making pottery, but haven’t done a very good job of keeping you all in the loop. My Bad!! I am still taking classes (once a week) and am learning a ton. That is one of the many things I love about pottery / ceramics - there is so many things you can do and so many different variables that can affect the outcome of the piece. In addition to making more and different types of pottery, I have had the chance to do crystalline glazing and foil Saggar. These are methods of decorating the surface in lieu of the normal glazing process. I’ll include some pics of pieces done with each of these. The Crystal ones are the last two and the foil Saggar are the two just before those. Also, I just added a bunch of new items on my Etsy site. If you’re interested, here’s the link.

Happy end of April / almost May!
Here’s a new “What’s It Gonna Be?” video. So far, we’ve had an ashtray, a vase and a bowl.
See if you can figure out What’s It Gonna Be (WIGB) before it’s finished.
Also below are pics of some finished pieces. Some are already spoken for. The picture with 5 pieces are ones that I just posted and are available on my Etsy Shop. Several other pieces are in the shop too.
And also included are some pics of things that are in process.

Hello Friends and Family! Here’s a new “What’s It Gonna Be?” video. Guess quickly and definitely before you look at the second video. The second video is the trimming process which helps to further shape the piece as well as create a foot or base.
If you recall, the #1 WIGB (What’s It Gonna Be?) video was a cigar ashtray. This was a specific request from a friend and it’s complete. The #2 WIGB was a vase. It’s complete and will be on my Etsy shop soon. Another piece that I recently finished was another cigar ashtray for another friend. This was hand built (not thrown on the pottery wheel). Pictures of all three of these will be in a second post right after this one.
Also, here’s a few pictures of other things I’ve been working on.

The last “What’s It Gonna Be?” videos was a cigar ashtray. I’m sure you figured that out!! It has been fired the first time and has been glazed and will be fired the second time soon. Once it is complete, I’ll post the final version. Here’s another “What’s It Gonna Be?” Video. Again, it’s a short video, so guess quickly. Also, here’s a few pictures of other things I’ve been working on.
