Unfortunately I grew up in a time and place where I was told repeatedly by my parents that there was no future in art and I had to get realistic and get a real job. I wasn't even allowed to take art in school. For decades I moved from career to career, never satisfied and always at the back of my mind there was a call to art. I had always been crafty and dabbled in art from time to time but with n

o clear direction. Then I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I began to think "if not now, when?". I took a watercolor painting class and it was like my soul started to sing and I knew that, at last, I had tuned into that creative space that I had been calling me for years and years.
