It’s hard to make room for practice and experiments with color palettes and textures but I’m carving time for practice with pieces I have no intention of keeping. It takes away a lot of pressure to be too careful and it opens the way to more improvisation. This was my first time deliberately ruining a piece, and it did take me a minute to actually do it but it’s also insanely liberating. What do you think? Should we be making more ephemeral art?

Last month, I sold my 400th glass painting in Saint Louis 🙀🎉

At times, my brain can't even comprehend how this is possible. 400 pieces, each hand-painted, by me, on reclaimed glass and paired with a thrifted frame.
400 frames, and twice as much glass, all saved from the landfills in less than 2 years.

My work has come such a long way since my first anatomical heart. Little did I know that theme would become a core element of what drives my work today.

400 pieces. I remember almost each one of them and I'm finally starting to feel like a real "artist" and not be embarrassed by my prices because imposter syndrome has been a lot more quiet lately.

I'm sitting at about 431 sales as I write this caption and it's starting to be clear this can't just be a fluke 🙀

Thanks everyone, your support means the world 🫶 Now? Onward to the 500th sale with a really fun celebration already all planned out ❤️ I can't wait to see what's next 🥳

After a busy run of markets, I’m so excited to have a few weeks of uninterrupted studio time before my next event 🎨

I have a few commissions and a bunch of brand new ideas scratching at my brain that I can't wait to bring to life on some unique upcycled glass and fabrics ❤️

Keep an eye on my stories to see what I’m working on behind the scenes! What kind of designs or motifs would you love to see me tackle during this studio block? Drop your ideas below! 👇

When I started branching out from my trusted anatomical hearts to experiment with other organs, it felt like a huge gamble. I didn’t know if there was an actual market, aside from a few people occasionally asking if I made other organs when they saw my hearts.

I quickly realized I wanted to work with lungs because there is just so much you can do with them, and there can be so much poetry in the imagery. So far, my mushroom lungs (which I baptized "Don't Breathe the Spores!") and my mountain lungs ("Breath of Fresh Air") have been selling at record speed, almost the first day they leave the house each time.

I already have new ideas to expand this series, including a "L'écume des jours" piece, referencing the famous French novel where the protagonist falls terminally ill due to a lily pad growing in her lung.

Which of these lungs is your favorite? 🫁✨

P.S. Audio on 🔊 The background track is "Respire" (Breathe) by Mickey 3D, a French indie track about protecting nature. Felt fitting for the upcycled lungs.

Accidental ASMR on this one 🤭
There is a lot of "hidden work" behind being a full time artist. From sourcing the frames and glass, cleaning, adding hooks, sealing and making sure to have a cohesive and beautiful display on market days, not all days are spent creating. I spent my afternoon prying staples out my displays so I can repaint them and give them a new youth this fall 🖌

Unrelated but moments before I recorded this, some random guy chased by the Park Rangers sped into our driveway to hide and immediately got arrested. Just another Wednesday 🚨😅

You may have seen the reel about this piece a few weeks ago. Unfortunately the woman I made this work for lost her battle with cancer a few days ago. I had a project to make her a piece with her service dog on it, but I'm glad I had the opportunity to gift her this painting at least. I know she really enjoyed it and it warms my heart I was able to add just a sprinkle of brightness into her final weeks. This piece will stay special for me, I hope her sister will enjoy it as much as me.

If you missed the reel, here's the original story of this work:

My mom made a friend on her daily walk with Cartouche
(🐕) many years ago. My moms friend, Corinne, was
born disabled and has been wheelchair bound her whole
life. She had a service dog named Tanka, and our dogs
quickly became best friends. Both dogs have been long
gone but she still visits her. I was informed a few weeks
back that Corinne was diagnosed with a pretty bad
cancer and she's been in the hospital dealing with a
series of infections. She won't be able to return to her
home once the infection allows her to get released from
the hospital so I made her this piece to try and brighten
up the facility she will be going to next. The
circumstances are very sad, but I feel very good about
this piece, I think she will like it.

I made it back home two days ago and I've been dealing with some pretty strong jetlag. But I'm ready to get back to work and keep sharing my creations with you as I get ready for my first few smaller vending events before tackling down some bigger ones in September. Here in this post is one of my most recent pieces. I recently spent a week with my aunt in Mallorca after not being able to be back there in 5 years. My aunt has had an owl collection since childhood when my grandmother, her mother, bought her her first piece. The collection started then and is still treasured and keeps growing. Naturally, I felt the best way to show my appreciation for her was the gift of this one of a kind piece.

Trigger warning ⚠️
Su***de

This piece is really special to me. In January 2022 someone very important to me took his own life. I lived a few hours away and it came as a very big shock followed by some very strong grief among all of us who loved and continue de love him. Dylan loved the Buffalo National River and it's where our friendship started. We kayaked the river together more times than I could ever count and it will always be special to me. Dylan loved to bring his garden gnome with us on all the adventure and it always was a great conversation starter. A mutual friend, who I can thank daily for introducing me to him, drew the sketch you can find in the second picture as a tribute and I turned it into the piece you see in the first picture, and of course I gifted it to her.

We miss you Dylan. I hope the river runs wild where you are ❤️
