Fused Glass Basics Classes with Katelyn

Fused Glass is such a beautiful craft, and you can create your own suncatcher or night light or holiday tree ornament during this basics class with Katelyn in a welcoming, beginner-friendly environment. You will explore color layering techniques and get hands on with scoring, cutting, and arranging glass to design your own unique art piece. Katelyn will take your pieces to be kiln-fired and they will be available in 1-2 weeks after firing, annealing, and cooling. A materials fee covers glass, glue, wire, and firing.

Materials fees: Basic: $10 Night light fee: $18 Holiday tree fee: $15 (quantities are limited)

No experience necessary, age 16+, please. Closed-toe shoes are required.

Intro to Brush Lettering Class with Kate

Join local calligrapher Kate Edwards at South Main Creative to learn the basics of brush lettering! In this two hour class, you’ll learn about beginner friendly supplies used for brush pen calligraphy, the basic strokes that make up the letters and how they’re assembled to make words, along with troubleshooting tips and tricks. You’ll walk away with the knowledge and tools needed to practice and develop your brush lettering skills. In addition to the supply kit, which is
yours to keep, a variety of brush pens will be available to try out during the class. Lefties welcome! 12+, please.

Materials fee includes:
● Class packet containing upper and lowercase exemplars, practice sheets, practice
words, guidelines and an abundance of tips, tricks, and resources.
● Beginner friendly black brush pen
● Fun color brush pen
● Pencil
● Practice paper

Intro to Modern Calligraphy Class with Kate

Join local calligrapher Kate Edwards at South Main Creative to learn the basics of modern calligraphy! In this two and a half hour class you’ll learn about the supplies used for pointed pen calligraphy, how to hold a pen holder, letterforms and how they’re assembled, and
troubleshooting tips and tricks. You’ll walk away with the ability to get ink flowing from nib to paper and all the tools needed to practice and develop your calligraphy skills. Supplies are provided and are yours to keep. Lefties welcome! Ages 12+, please.

Materials fee includes:
● Class packet containing upper and lowercase exemplars, practice sheets, practice
words, guidelines and an abundance of tips, tricks, and resources.

● 2 nibs

Stained Glass Basics Classes with Katelyn!

We have 2 Stained glass classes coming up, One on Saturday, October 17 and one on Sunday October 18-check it out. There are only 3 spaces per class, sign up at the link in our bio!!!

Learn how to turn a design template into a beautiful stained glass suncatcher! Students will choose from 6 beginner-friendly templates to create their piece. Learn how to cut and grind glass to fit the design and then foil and solder the pieces to create a stunning hanging work of art. Students will learn tips and tricks throughout the workshop that will help guide future choices in the craft and optimize chances for success! This class is intended for beginners who are new to the craft of stained glass, or those with experience who just need a refresher or more practice.

Please arrive a bit early to pay your materials fee and get settled, as instruction will begin promptly at 11:00. We will need every bit of the 5-hour class to complete these projects! You must wear closed-toe shoes and no exposed legs. Please bring a large water bottle (that closes completely) and a snack.

Materials/supplies fee covers: stained glass, sticker paper, solder, flux, copper foil, nitrile gloves, hanging materials, cleaning materials, handouts, tool/equipment and possibly a band-aid or two.
