I thought you might enjoy this transformation. I had an old solid oak TV cabinet with a very "dated" finish, but very high quality construction. When my son Justin and his sweet wife Ashley announced that a baby is on the way, I finally knew what this cabinet's next iteration would be...a baby diaper changing and dressing station. I added a flip up "crib" railing, a new back wall that I wallpapered with goods from , and several coats of new paint. Finally, a changing pad with matching fabric gives a soft landing for Baby. Hanging a cute little mobile in the center is all that's left to do. The doors can be added later when the diapering season has past. What could you do with your old TV cabinet?

Sometimes you just need a little piano music when you put on your jewelry. I thought this little section of piano keys would be a great little accompaniment to a string of necklaces or other "pretties" dangling from the pegs. What would you use it for? I like the signs of wear and use this instrument had, and I was drawn to incorporate the textures of human handling into this little piece.

I can imagine what these great grandparents of the computer would tell us about their past if they could talk. They started life all bright and shiny, ready to get to work! They were portable typewriters with personality. I wanted to find a way to display them on the wall, because to me they are little works of art in themselves. I have more on the workbench, and WOW! Are they ever cool hanging as a collection on a workspace's wall.

This is where my love of piano rescuing began. My friend gave me a very sad water damaged piano that had been hiding in the church basement. When we hauled it home (thank you, husband) and started dissecting, it was fascinating to see the number of parts that all had to work together, perfectly cooperating to produce beautiful sounds. This triptych is all made from parts of the piano..."reconfigured".
