Some stories begin with a dream. Mine began with a loss. đ¤
Losing my dad changed me in ways I could never put into words. In the middle of that grief, I needed something to pour myself into â something that could bring a little light back into a really dark season.
And somehow, that became Flora Flames.
What started as a way to heal has grown into something I never could have imagined. A business, a community, countless workshops, celebrations, collaborations, and moments of people gathering around a table and creating something together.
But building something you love comes with lessons, too.
Iâve learned that not everyone who offers to help is rooting for you. Not everyone deserves a seat at the table you worked so hard to build. Protect your ideas, trust your instincts, and pay attention to actions more than words. I would love a tell all to the con artist of a businesswoman I was once associated with but I dgaf now.
Some lessons were harder than others, but every one of them made me more protective of what Iâve built â and more grateful for the people who have genuinely supported me along the way.
If youâve ever attended a workshop, I hope it brought you some sort of sense of peace. âŽď¸
