When we first began designing this home, we kept returning to the feeling of old cabins in the woods; dark wood, stone fireplaces, warm pools of light, windows looking out onto snow covered trees in the winter and green forest canopies in the summer. Not necessarily rustic, but deeply atmospheric and connected to the surrounding landscape.
Throughout the house, materials were chosen to age well and bring warmth and texture into the spaces: large structural wood beams, limewash painted walls, handmade tile, unlacquered brass, pine cladding, natural stone, and deep windows that pull the outdoors in during every season.
We wanted the experience of the house to feel calm and intuitive: prepping food on the kitchen island while looking into the fire, leaving the french doors open in summer, morning light across the kitchen counters, quiet views into the woods from nearly every room.
A project we feel very grateful to have brought to life with and alongside wonderful clients who trusted the process and shared our love for the characterful details.
