a 30,000 square foot antique shopping mall, surrounded by historic fiberglass giants. The Pink Elephant is a favorite stop for those traveling Old Route 66 and Interstate I55. The mall has welcomed guest from all over the world, a map in the diner allows guests to place a pin for their place of origin. At the Pink Elephant Antique Mall, we are passionate about supporting local vendors that offer a wide variety of antiques and items that appeal to all kinds of shoppers. The mall has everything from antique furniture, jewelry, collectibles, glassware, memorabilia, to candles, home goods and home decor. The mall also has two retro shops The Mother Road Fudge Factory and Candy Shop and The Twistee Treats Diner. The Mother Road Fudge Factory and Candy Shop is a 1950’s themed candy store that sells homemade fudge, that is made on sight in a variety of flavors, caramelized roasted nuts made on sight, vintage candies, bulk candy, bulk salt water taffy, chocolates and route 66 souvenirs. The Twistee Treats Diner is a kitschy 1950’s themed diner. The diner is in an original Twistee Treats ice cream cone shaped building with the dining area decked out in a hot pink tile floor. The Blues Brothers overlook the dining area and the jukebox. The diner serves a full menu for lunch and dinner including their burgers that are made with fresh local beef that is never frozen. The ice cream is amazing including soft serve, hand scooped and a large selection of specialties. The Pink Elephant is located right off of interstate I55 40 minutes from St Louse, MO and less than an hour from Springfield IL. We need your help naming our newest little high-flying character at the Pink Elephant Antique Mall! ✈️⛄

If you’ve followed us for a while, you know some of our oddball roadside creatures have earned their names with help from all of you — from Chuck the Rhino to our aliens and more.

Well… now we have a new one.

Flying high inside the old Livingston High School gymnasium is a snowman piloting a bright red airplane.

Because honestly… where else would a snowman in an airplane belong?

So here’s the big question:

What should we name our little snowman pilot?

Our Route 66 Main Street Is Starting to Come to Life

The front of the Pink Elephant Antique Mall is slowly turning into our own little old-time Route 66 Main Street, and with the addition of our fourth double-bell lollipop sign, the vision is really starting to come together.

We now have double-bell lollipop signs installed for Twistee Treat Diner, the Pink Elephant Antique Mall, Mother Road Fudge & Candy Shop, and Area 66 Haunted School. Our newest sign is the Area 66 Haunted School sign, done in bright orange, and inspired by two of our haunt actor characters, Treatz the Clown and Giggles the Clown, who appear as the animated cartoon characters on the sign.

As you can see in the photos, the concrete patio areas are already poured and in place in front of Twistee Treat Diner and the Pink Elephant Antique Mall. Those finished sections are beginning to show exactly where this project is headed — more seating, more picnic tables, more photo opportunities, and more of that glowing roadside Americana feel that makes Route 66 so special.

As money comes in this year, we plan to continue the concrete patio the rest of the way down in front of Mother Road Fudge & Candy Shop and Area 66 Haunted School. Once those sections are completed, it will tie the whole front stretch together and really complete the look of the old-time Route 66 Main Street we have been working toward.

Right now, the rock area is still a work in progress. It needs more w**ding and cleanup, and I spent a good amount of time working on that tonight and will continue tomorrow with the w**d eating. Until the rest of the patio is finished, that area does still look a little incomplete — but step by step, it is getting there.

We have also installed the red light post for our Heroes lollipop sign, which will be going up soon. Its first official lighting will take place on the evening of June 20 during our Route 66 Centennial Celebration / Heroes Celebration. We are excited to add that next piece to the streetscape.

With each sign, each patio section, and each improvement, the front of the Pink Elephant is becoming more and more what we imagined — a place that feels like a scene from an old Route 66 movie, glowing at night and welcoming travelers in true roadside Americana style.

Crap Chronicles season 2
episode 22 part 1

As Tonia is working in the office, here’s a bunch of noise outside looks outside and the crap brothers are back Roy and Tim with the trailer and have the haunted school lollipop sign. They have finished on the trailer.

As for those who think that Tonia is going on the crap side, you are all wrong. She is still staying on the other side of this is C.R.A.P. Chronic roadside acquired projects. It’s just that this project actually might get completely finished. It’s still not quite there but it’s over halfway. The pile in the back is about gone. That is 1 of many laying around.

As Tonia will continue working in the office today, looking out every once in a while to see how they’re doing and getting the last Business lollipop sign up.
But keep on the lookout because they’re still up to something else that’s a big surprise that will be revealed on
June 20 at our Route 66 Centennial Celebration
