Full size porcelain doll, late 19th to early 20th century. Possibly a store window model as it's enormous for its genre at 30 inches. Great condition as most "fell" by the wayside and shattered. This one has survived to be 130 or so... I don't really like to buy dolls per se, but this one caught my eye.

The stuff we buy can't always be flashy. But buying the two sterling spoons and tiny 10k gold charm enabled me to also get this swell older Navajo turquoise and silver squash blossom necklace. The other stuff...just icing for the cake.

A gift from a friend, now long gone. Can't even imagine the skill required to cut that nouveau glass slivers...

Now, and then. After 3 weeks of dust mopping the floors and filling up empty spaces. God, I hope you can see the difference! Gotta retire eventually, better start now!

My best amateur rug washing tip: after washing, roll it up pile out, and stand it on end overnight to let gravity do the work. In the morning, though still wet at the bottom, you've saved hours of dry-time. Just lay it flat in the sun and flip it every hour or so till dry. Soap of choice... Tide pod, cut open and drained into 40 gallons of water in a heavy duty garbage can. WITH WHEELS. Rinse-repeat, rinse-repeat, dry.
