There is a fabulous art gallery at the Design Center in Laguna Hills, CA; Westervelt's Fine Art. The owner, Carol, held an event to highlight the advantages of 'Starting with the Art' when designing a home or just a room. She asked 5 designers to select a piece from her stock and design a room around it. She tasked us with a contemporary and a more traditional room (or whatever we wanted to do). I think mine came out more Feminine/Masculine. We all came up with different presentations. (Big surprise!) We had a great time and the 150 guests really loved having a glimpse into the process. This is Christy Nimeh who is the 'oh so talented artist' of the painting I selected. Some would say that I am biased toward her art. They would be right. I have one of her pieces in my own home.
