🌸 Charity in Bloom x Ellie Fund | Breast Cancer Support 🌸 Through Charity in Bloom, we partner with a nonprofit organization and donate 20% of the purchase price of a featured arrangement to support their mission.

This September, we’ve designed a pair of glowing arrangements featuring dahlias, roses, and hydrangea to savor the final stretch of summer. With every purchase, 20% will be donated to Ellie Fund | Breast Cancer Support.

Ellie Fund is a Massachusetts-based nonprofit dedicated to providing breast cancer patients and their families with the essential support they need to focus on healing. Now in its 30th year, Ellie Fund reaches nearly 2,000 patients annually, delivering practical help, community, education, and hope throughout every step of the breast cancer journey.

Beat the heat. 🪴💦 When temperatures rise, your outdoor plants need a little extra care and attention. Our Garden Design team has prepared a few tips to help your plants make it through the heatwave:

1. Water daily - It’s best to water in the morning. Smaller plants and containers with a diameter of 14” or less will likely need to be watered again in the late afternoon. Avoid watering during the peak afternoon heat.

2. Water at the base of the plant - Take care to water beneath the foliage, ensuring the water thoroughly saturates the soil and root ball. This will also help prevent leaf burn caused by water droplets.

3. Water slowly - Water your plants gradually to ensure it’s being absorbed into the soil rather than only wetting the top inch. When watering a container planting, you should see water coming out of the drainage hole.

4. Keep the water cool - If your hose has been sitting in the sun, let the water run until it feels cool to the touch.

5. Hold off on maintenance - Avoid repotting, pruning, or performing other plant maintenance during periods of extreme heat. Focus on watering until temperatures moderate.

Flowers that give back. 🌸 Through Charity in Bloom, we partner with a nonprofit organization and donate 20% of the purchase price from a featured arrangement to support its work.

This June, we’re proud to partner with Light Foundation, founded by former New England Patriots offensive tackle Matt Light and his wife, Susie.

The Charity in Bloom arrangement showcases peonies grown by the Light family on their Rhode Island Farm, Hickory Fields Farm. Matt, Susie, and their children have spent years cultivating these blooms together, making the partnership all the more meaningful. 🩷
