AT 18, MY GRANDFATHER CAME TO ELLIS ISLAND. HE CAME WITHOUT MONEY OR EDUCATION. THROUGH BACK BRAKING WORK HE BUILT A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS. HIS SON, MY FATHER, BECAME A RESPECTED SCIENTIST, WITH MORAL VALUES THAT HAVE SHAPED ME.

THIS COUNTRY HAs ALWAYS PROVIDED PLACE FOR IMMIGRANTS TO FLOURISH. NOW WE ARE ATTACKED BY CULTURES THAT ARE ANTI AMERICA AND SEEK TO DESTROY THE ESSENCE OF WHAT IT IS TO BE AN AMERICAN.

AS A JEWISH AMERICAN. I AM FRIGHTENED BY THE HATEFUL WORDS AND ACTIONS NOW NORMALIZED WITHIN THIS COUNTRY. IF MY GRANDFATHER AND MY FATHER WERE STILL ALIVE, THEY WOULD BE HORRIFIED SAD THAT OUR FAMILY LEFT IN EUROPE IS HAPPENING HERE.
