This exterior transformation completely changed the feeling of this Los Angeles home. We leaned into warmth, color, and layers of native landscaping to create a home that feels inviting the moment you arrive.

If you’re planning an exterior remodel, here are a few design tips that make the biggest impact:

• Use 2–3 exterior colors to keep the home feeling cohesive
• Create zones in your outdoor space (cooking, lounging, garden, etc)
• Mixing textures (wood, tile, stone, plaster, etc) adds depth without overwhelming the exterior
• Native and drought-tolerant plants create a softer, more natural look over time
• Small architectural details often make a big impact

The fireplace at Project had great bones - the shape, the height, and the sweetest niche that echoes the angles of the ceiling and original built-ins. It just needed the right materials to truly become the focal point of the room.

We carried the same Calacatta Viola marble from the bathroom (see the previous post) and applied a rich Roman Clay from Portola Paints, adding depth and texture.

Now it feels as special as the architecture always deserved, a true statement that anchors the entire room.

We had the design for this bathroom finalized except for the stone, then went started our search. Our goal was to find a remnant slab that could work here and elsewhere in the home. And we lucked out with a full Calacatta Viola slab!

Here, it was used on the vanity countertop, a custom backsplash (I hand-drew the design!), and in the shower. The striking veining and rich tones of the stone complement the dark walnut vanity, bringing depth and sophistication to the space.

A complete ADU transformation that was taken down to the studs and rebuilt with intention. We love creating spaces that feel timeless, functional, and tailored to the way our clients live.

The kitchen in this Los Angeles ADU showcases classic Shaker cabinetry, beautiful mosaic tile that adds color and texture, and a layout designed for both everyday living and entertaining.

A playful mix of orange and blue chairs to show we’re not super serious but we know how to seriously have fun!

In Los Angeles, the outdoors naturally become an extension of the indoors, which made the exterior design the perfect final phase of this whole home project. From the outdoor dining space to the fire pit lounge, every detail was designed for effortless hosting and year-round indoor-outdoor living.
