For nearly three decades, I had the privilege of championing the work of my father, Ian Baird. A fearless founder, inventor, artist, and craftsman, he hand-sculpted our colorful wax vessels in water, creating the one-of-a-kind candle vessels unlike anything else in the world.
We built our business around his work, but more importantly, around his character. He was endlessly curious, generous, fearless, and deeply inspiring.
Today, we find ourselves in a moment of pause, grief, and quiet reflection.
For the foreseeable future, our Van Nuys studio will close, and production will be paused. To our loyal retailers, customers, and friends: thank you for believing in our work and supporting this remarkable journey.
While this chapter is closing, Le Feu de L’Eau is far from over. “The fire of the water” has always represented the harmony of opposing elements – strength and delicacy, art and function, fire and water. We look forward to sharing more as we shape what comes next.
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
