A few weeks ago, Tori in the House had the incredible honor of participating as a nonprofit partner and as a judge on the panel at Hack2Impact 2025—UCLA’s first-ever social good hackathon hosted by ACM At UCLA & LA Blueprint.
Hack2Impact 2025 was truly beyond—and we were blown away by what the students were able to accomplish in just 36 hours! Several wonderful teams of students used tech and AI for good to tackle real challenges brought forth by four nonprofits. We left genuinely inspired—not just by the talent, but by the care and intentionality behind each project.
For Tori in the House our challenge was to help further develop our Trauma-Informed Style Quiz and expand our work around dignity through design—via a tool that identifies sensory and design elements like color, texture, and grounding cues that can support safety, stability, and identity for our formerly unhoused neighbors and clients, and help get them on a path to long-term thriving & help end the cycle of homelessness.
We’re so grateful to all three teams—Stile, Tori’s Style Quiz, and Tori Quiz—who chose to build with us. They each brought a different lens to the same challenge and showed what’s possible when empathy, creativity, and community-based work meet tech/AI for good.
It was a super close race, but Team Stile took home the win for Best Hack in the Tori in the House category! One of our other quiz teams, Tori’s Style Quiz, also received the award for Most Sustainable Design.

Grateful to each team who built with us. Massive thanks to the incredible Anne Do, Caroline DebBaruah, & every single person behind the scenes who made Hack2Impact what it was. Big thank you to Jen García for connecting us—and to ACM at UCLA and LA Blueprint for making dreams come true.
So excited to keep building, collaborating, and imagining what’s possible when design with dignity is centered and tech is led with empathy.
