Legends returns March 1-4, 2027, with The Art of Atmosphere.

Legends of DesignLA brings designers and architects together with world-class speakers and leading creative voices for four days of conversation, discovery, showroom experiences and nights out across Los Angeles.

This year’s theme, The Art of Atmosphere, explores what gives a space its presence, from light, material and mood to imagination, hospitality and the unexpected.

Drawing from California’s landscapes, architecture, and way of life, Croft House designs collections that feel connected.

The Los Angeles studio has introduced four new collections, Delano, Rollins, Entrada, and Marella, each with its own point of view but united by Croft House’s thoughtful approach to proportion, material, and form.

From the softer silhouettes of Delano to the architectural presence of Rollins, the launch moves easily between comfort and structure. Entrada brings warmth and texture, while Marella takes a more refined, graphic approach, giving the full collection a sense of range without losing cohesion.

What happens when two architects follow their curiosity?

Alexandra Cadiz and Micah Blyckert of Ceramicah Ceramica Studio have taken their architectural roots in unexpected directions, first through clay and lighting, and now into solid wood with the Cuadra Collection.

Made in Los Angeles and available through Lawson-Fenning, Ceramicah’s work balances precision, proportion, and a distinctly human touch. And they’re just getting started.

We spoke with the duo about their path to Ceramicah, the thinking behind Cuadra, and where their curiosity is taking them next.

Gracie’s new Modern Collection looks closely at the decorative details of another era, drawing inspiration from antique textiles, vase borders, and even sheet music. Enlarged, abstracted, and reimagined in unexpected color combinations, ancient motifs become something decidedly new.

The collection made its debut with a speakeasy-inspired evening at Gracie’s Melrose Avenue showroom, complete with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and music curated by WRENSILVA. Twelve new handpainted patterns were unveiled alongside two exclusive designs by Los Angeles designer and longtime Gracie collaborator Kevin Isbell.

Beyond the cabinetry: Jewelry for the home.

In a new endeavor for Amuneal, the brand is offering their signature hardware as a collection of its own for the first time. Machined from solid bronze and finished by hand in Philadelphia, each pull brings the same attention to material, proportion, and detail found throughout Amuneal’s custom cabinetry.

From the softer curves of the Swell Pull to the more architectural Ballast and Bin designs, the five families are available in four signature finishes, bringing a sculptural quality to one of the most frequently touched details in a room.

For Philip Stites, a great object begins with three things: quality, style, and age, in that order.

Over nearly four decades in the antiques world, he has built an eye through constant looking, years of buying trips across Europe and Asia, and a willingness to let centuries mingle. Today, his La Cienega gallery brings together 18th-century antiques, 20th-century design, textiles, and newly made pieces from PSMADE, all with the same point of view: the best objects make one another better.

In our latest Q&A, Philip talks about growing up in Kansas, the early Therien years, the changing landscape of Los Angeles design, and why the thrill of finding something exceptional still hasn’t worn off.

A look back at the “Best Seat in the House.”

Ten years ago, Jamie Bush Jamie Bush + Co created one of our favorite Legends windows for Richard Shapiro Studiolo, a perfect meeting of two distinct design sensibilities.

Playing off that year’s “One of a Kind” theme, layers of found chairs set the scene in a series of color-soaked vignettes, while a singular piece from Shapiro’s collection took center stage in each window.

Simple, clever, and still so good.

The windows at Legends 2027, taking place March 1–5, will celebrate “The Art of Atmosphere.” Each year, we look forward to seeing how designers bring the theme to life.
