El anillo de humor de la naturaleza... 🌸🧪 👀¡Bienvenidos de nuevo a Martes de Aprendizaje! Las hortensias (Hydrangeas) son famosas por sus flores gigantes y hermosas, pero esconden un secreto que parece verdadera brujería.
A diferencia de la mayoría de las flores, su color no está escrito en su ADN. ¡Es pura química!
🔷 ¿Las quieres AZULES? Necesitan tierra ácida (pH bajo). Esto permite que la planta absorba aluminio del suelo, volviendo los pétalos azules.
🌸 ¿Las quieres ROSAS? Necesitan tierra alcalina (pH alto). Esto bloquea el aluminio, manteniendo los pétalos en un rosa vibrante.
☕️ EL TRUCO DE COCINA PARA CAMBIAR EL COLOR:
Si quieres transformar tus hortensias rosas a AZULES, ¡comienza a enterrar los restos de café molido o cáscaras de cítricos en la tierra de la planta! Esto baja el pH del suelo de forma natural y aumenta la acidez con el tiempo.

Welcome back to Educational Tuesday! Hydrangeas (Hortensias) are famous for their massive, gorgeous blooms, but they hold a secret that feels like actual witchcraft.
Unlike most flowers, their colour isn't written in their DNA. It’s pure chemistry!
🔷 Want Blue Flowers? They need acidic soil (low pH). This allows the plant to absorb aluminum from the ground, turning the petals blue.
🌸 Want Pink Flowers? They need alkaline soil (high pH). This blocks the aluminum, keeping the petals a vibrant pink.
☕️ THE KITCHEN HACK TO CHANGE THE COLOUR:
If you want to turn your pink hydrangeas BLUE, start burying your leftover coffee grounds or citrus peels into the soil at the base of the plant. It naturally lowers the soil's pH and increases the acidity over time!
