1925 marked the arrival of the 2nd generation, as John G. Greer’s sons J. Barksdale and James Carmichael Greer bought out their Uncle Bliz' share of the business. During the next 40 years, J. In the 1950’s a 3rd generation joined the firm. John C. Greer and his brother-in-law Hamill B. Carey developed a very successful and enjoyable partnership based on customer service and consumer credit options. By the turn of the century the hardware department had been sold to another retailer, and the company dedicated it’s product mix to furniture and mattresses. Today Bo Carey continues the family tradition as the 4th generation owner and manager.
