Challenge accepted! 🏁🏎️💨

My youngest grandsons got new bunk beds and some pretty cool Hot Wheels bedding this week, and their mom has officially given Grandma her next assignment: create new wall art to match—with a Hot Wheels theme AND their names!

Well… she knows me well enough to know I can’t turn down a creative challenge. 😂 I already have ideas racing around in my head, and I’m excited to see where this one takes me!

These beds are looking pretty awesome already, but those walls are definitely calling for a little Grandma Robin/Odessa Rose treatment. ❤️

Stay tuned… the race is on! 🏁🔥🏎️

🍂 A little fall tour around my home…

My favorite kind of decorating is the kind that tells a story. Pieces found while thrifting, treasures discovered in antique shops, things I’ve collected over the years, and—of course—my own Chalk Couture creations all seem to find their place together.

This fall, a few pieces of brown transferware and vintage brown bottles started something new…and somehow led me down the rabbit hole of collecting vintage Avon wildlife cologne bottles. 😂 And I’m not mad about it!

Suddenly pheasants, mallard ducks, turkeys and other woodland touches began appearing throughout my autumn decor. Add in warm woods, aged metals, rich fall colors and a sprinkling of my beloved Victorian details, and it feels perfectly me.

I think that’s what I love most about decorating—there really aren’t any rules. Collect what you love, create what you can’t find, mix old with new, and eventually your home begins to tell your story. 🤎🍁
Do you have a new autumn obsession??

There’s something pretty special about seeing a whole new generation fall in love with Woody & Buzz! 🤠🚀💙

My kids grew up with Toy Story, and now my two youngest grandsons have discovered these characters and think they’re pretty great, too. How in the world did we get from watching Toy Story with our kids to making Woody and Buzz shirts for the grandkids?! 🥹

Of course, Grandma had to celebrate with a little Chalk Couture! I used the Toy Story silkscreen transfers and Couture Ink to create coordinating shirts—Woody with his classic “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” and Buzz heading “To Infinity and Beyond!”

Halloween shirt #8 for the grandkids! 🎃🧡

This one is for my sweet three-year-old granddaughter, Scotlyn Jo! I started with the adorable “Boo? Pooh!” transfer and, because you know I can rarely leave a design alone, I pulled a few extra elements from a couple of different Chalk Couture transfers to make it uniquely hers. 🦇✨

A little mixing, matching, and Odessa Rose-ing turned a plain black ruffled hoodie into the cutest little Halloween sweatshirt for Miss Scottie! 🧙‍♀️🎃

Just ONE more grandkid shirt to go! 👻

🧙‍♀️ A little thrifted… a little witchy… and a whole lot of pattern! 🎃

I started with a plain thrifted sweatshirt and gave it a Halloween makeover, Odessa Rose style! I appliquéd three whimsical witch hats, but of course I couldn’t leave them plain. 😉 Each hat got its own personality with Chalk Couture pattern transfers before being stitched into place.

Then I added that gorgeous silkscreened lace pattern all the way around the hemline—and I think that detail completely finished it off! 🖤

I love taking something ordinary from the thrift store and turning it into a one-of-a-kind piece that nobody else will be wearing. A little fabric, a few transfers, and plenty of pattern mixing… now this is my kind of Halloween! 🧙‍♀️🖤

Halloween shirt #7 of 9 is finished! 🎃🐦‍⬛

This one is for five-year-old Callum, and I had a little fun digging through my Chalk Couture archives for just the right pieces. I hunted down a few crows, tossed them right into the pumpkin patch, and suddenly this Halloween scene came to life! 🖤

I love mixing and matching transfers from different collections to create something completely one-of-a-kind—and that big jack-o’-lantern might just be my favorite part!

Seven down…only TWO more grandkid Halloween shirts to go! 👻🎃

This bag was just begging for a little Odessa Rose treatment! 🤎🌸

I took this gorgeous faux suede tote and gave it a completely custom look using a Chalk Couture floral silkscreen transfer. The creamy blooms and rich chocolate leaves against that warm caramel background are giving me all the cozy, classic fall vibes.

I love taking an already beautiful piece and using silkscreen printing to make it feel completely one-of-a-kind. And yes… you CAN chalk on faux suede! 😉

Would you carry this one? Because I’m pretty sure it needs to become part of my fall wardrobe!

👻 Halloween Shirt #6 is for Easton! 🎃

Easton’s getting his very own BOO shirt, and this one was all about creating a fun all-over Halloween print!

I combined two Chalk Couture silkscreen transfers, mixing those sweet little ghosts with a whole bunch of silly jack-o’-lantern faces. I love how the crisp white ghosts pop against the black while those golden pumpkins fill in all the spaces. 🖤🤍🎃

Sometimes the best part of creating is taking a couple of transfers and using them in a completely different way to make something one-of-a-kind.

Six grandkid shirts down… three more to go! 👻🎃 Who’s next?!
