Nelly's Nest is in remembrance of our son who brought nothing but sunshine and smiles to all who met him. In May of 2021, the world was robbed of a beautiful and amazing young man. Donell was weeks away from his 17th birthday when he developed a fever. We decided to get him tested for Covid. Nelly was never sick, so of course, we were very worried. We took him on Saturday, May 15th. On Sunday, May
16th, we got back the positive results. Monday morning, May 17th, Donell stopped breathing at home. Mom performed CPR while Dad called 911. After everyone trying for over an hour, it was clear Donell was gone. As of 8am, Monday morning, our precious child was gone. These years since have been full of ups and downs. Finally, we are in a place that we would like to live a life creating and tributing the beautiful soul that Donell was. My two biggest regrets are, no one will ever get to meet him again and he won't be able to be as big as he was going to be. But hopefully, this is a small way to bring that light back.
