At 29, Lisa Head served in Afghanistan as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal officer. On April 18, 2011, she approached and disarmed an IED, saving lives. Aware of potential secondary devices, she returned to secure the area, but a second explosion critically wounded her. Remaining conscious as her team worked to rescue her, she passed away the next day. Head faced danger twice without hesitation, demonstrating extraordinary courage, selflessness, and devotion. Her heroism left a lasting legacy, exemplifying bravery and unwavering commitment to protecting others under the most extreme conditions.
