Marlowe, my 5 year old, has been a bow rep for Sail Away Bows, an amazing local (Roanoke, VA), mama-owned small business for over 3 years now!

Kayla Gurley Vinson, the bow making extraordinaire, is getting a much needed non-insurance covered surgery this month in hopes of alleviating significant rib pain as a result of Slipping Rib Syndrome (SRS). This month will be the first of two, extremely expensive surgeries. Her shop will be only open for fundraising SRS orders during her recovery, and any remaining Halloween bows until they sell out.

Visit her site to check out her story and get some gear to bring some light to SRS in hopes of those that need the surgery in the future can afford to do so with insurance coverage!

Mental Health is Health (B&W Version)!

This week at work, I learned that there are over 400 mental illness diagnoses, and 1 in 5 employees have at least one mental illness. More often than not, a diagnosis is not singular, but accompanied by another/other mental illness(es). Personally, my anxiety has anxiety.

It is OKAY to NOT be okay. Talk about it; be a part of normalizing mental health.
