Made this ribbon flag for my own door 🇺🇸
I’ve made these before for Blue Mountain Barn, and I don’t know … there’s just something really nice about sitting down and putting one together again. Simple, hands-on, and a little bit of a creative break from everything else going on.
It feels good to still make time for things like this.
Sometimes the simplest things are the ones that ground us the most. ❤️

28 years. ❤️

Through every season, every challenge, every laugh-until-we-cry moment, and every answered prayer … I see God’s faithfulness woven through our story. God has carried us through every high, low, blessing, challenge, and unexpected turn together.

Marriage isn’t just made of big moments …
it’s built in the everyday choosing, loving, forgiving, supporting, praying, and growing side by side. Looking back, I’m thankful not just for what we’ve walked through, but for how God has used it all to shape us.

Thank you for loving me, leading our family, making me laugh, and being steady when life feels chaotic. You are truly my best friend and my gift from God. I wouldn’t trade this life with you for anything.

Happy 28th Anniversary, babe. I love this life with you. ❤️

Today we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave everything for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is more than cookouts and a long weekend … it’s a reminder that so many families carry the weight of sacrifice every single day. Because of those heroes, we get to enjoy the freedoms, moments, and memories we often take for granted.

Praying today for the Gold Star families, for those grieving loved ones, and for all who have served our country with courage and honor. May we never forget the cost of freedom.

❤️This will forever be one of my favorite displays we put together at the store.

Do you ever find yourself playing the comparison game?

I didn’t realize how often I was doing it … until it started stealing little pieces of my joy. Scrolling, looking, wondering if I should be further along … doing more … having more.

And then something interrupts those thoughts.A song. A quiet moment. A memory that gently pulls me back.

I remember being younger … over 30 years ago … sitting with a prayer that felt so big at the time:
“Lord, I just want a man who loves You first … someone who brings peace into my life, helps me heal from my past, and builds a future with me.”

And He did.

Then I remember another season … one that felt long and heavy. Six years of praying. Hoping. Waiting. Wondering if motherhood would ever be part of my story.

And God answered that prayer too.

Now I look around and see 21 … almost 20 … and 18. And my heart can hardly hold it all.
Somewhere along the way, life became everything I once prayed for … and yet comparison still tries to convince me it’s not enough.

But the truth is … the life I’m living right now is the very one I used to cry out to God for.

I may not have everything I once imagined.
There are still goals on my vision board that haven’t come to life. There are still dreams sitting quietly in the “someday” category. And no, we don’t have an abundance of money or things.
But we have something deeper.

We have a marriage that was covered in prayer before it ever began. We have children that were cried out to God for, year after year.We have a life that, while not perfect, is full of what truly matters.

“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” (Psalm 126:3). “Every good and perfect gift is from above…” (James 1:17).

I think sometimes we forget to sit in the goodness of what God has already done … because we’re too focused on what hasn’t happened yet.

And sometimes … the prayers that feel unanswered right now … are actually being worked out for our good, we just can’t see it yet.
But today, I’m choosing to pause.

To remember. To feel it fully. To thank Him for the prayers that didn’t go unanswered … and trust Him with the ones that still are.

I may not have a lot of money … but we have something greater.

We have Jesus.

And somehow, that makes even the simplest life feel full. 🤍

We have all been there…

And lately, I can’t help but notice how many people around us are walking through some really heavy things.

The kind that weigh on your heart.
The kind you don’t always have words for.
The kind that quietly take strength just to get through the day.

It’s a reminder to slow down … to be a little more aware, a little more gentle, a little more intentional with how we show up for others.

Because even when we can’t see it, God is still at work.

He’s working in the middle of the unknown.
He’s working in the waiting.
He’s working in the parts of the story that don’t make sense yet.

And somehow, in His way, He uses these moments, not just to grow us, but to one day encourage someone else who finds themselves in a similar place.

So if today feels heavy, keep going.

If your heart feels stretched, keep going.

And if you’re in a season of strength, be mindful of those who may not be.

God is faithful in every part of the story … even here. #
