The older, more worn, and more imperfect piece … the better!

That was definitely the theme at last nights CVCC class! We took vintage windows with all their character, imperfections and stories … and turned them into beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces with decoupage. There’s something so special about taking something that might have otherwise been overlooked and giving it a whole new life.

Every window was different, and every finished piece reflected the creativity and personality of the person who made it. We had such a fun evening filled with creativity, conversation, and lots of laughs … and we absolutely cannot wait for the next class!

Because sometimes the most beautiful things are the ones that aren’t perfect.

Looking at this picture, I can't help but smile. These were just two young kids with big dreams and even bigger plans. We had no idea what life would hold.

We couldn't have imagined the joy of raising three amazing children. We couldn't have imagined the tears, the hardships, the uncertainty, or the battles with cancer that would come. We didn't know there would be moments that would test our faith, our marriage, and our strength.

But we also didn't know just how faithful God would be.

If I could whisper one thing to these two young kids, it would be this: The life ahead won't look like the one you've imagined. There will be seasons that bring you to your knees, but those same seasons will show you the faithfulness of God in ways you could never understand today. Keep choosing each other. Keep choosing Him. One day you'll look back with grateful hearts, knowing He was writing a beautiful story all along.

Looking back now, I can honestly say I wouldn't change our story. Every joy, every heartache, every unanswered question, every victory, and every challenge became part of the testimony God was writing. His grace was enough in every season, and His love never failed us.

God's plans were always greater than ours, and His faithfulness has been the greatest part of our journey. joeysarinana

Twenty years ago today, God entrusted us with one of our greatest blessings … you. 💛

And somehow, today, you celebrate your 20th birthday on the 20th ... your Golden Birthday. It seems fitting because your life has always been a gift worth celebrating.

Watching you grow from a little boy into the young man you are today has been one of the greatest joys of our life. We have watched you work hard, overcome challenges, chase your dreams, and become someone of integrity and compassion. We hope you always know that we are proud of you … not because of what you accomplish, but because of who you are.

As you step into this new decade, our prayer is that you will continue to seek the Lord in everything you do. May He guide your steps, strengthen your faith, open doors that no one can close, and remind you every day that your identity is found in Him.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5–6

Happy Golden Birthday, Caelen. May this year be filled with God's favor, purpose, joy, and blessings beyond anything you could imagine. No matter how old you get, you'll always be our little boy, and we will always be your biggest cheerleader.

I think this was one of my all-time favorite trees I ever decorated. 🎄💚 A little rustic, a little farmhouse, and a whole lot of personality. Those shotgun shells made the perfect finishing touch!

I sure do miss decorating trees in the middle of summer and dreaming up fun, unexpected themes. It's funny how something as simple as a box of old shotgun shells can spark so much creativity.

Looks like I need to start keeping my eyes open for more shells ... you never know when inspiration (or another Christmas tree) might come along.

Maybe I will have to put my Christmas tree up soon.

One of the things that truly makes America great is simple: supporting small businesses.

To all my market friends … if you ever get the chance to bring vendors like this into your market, do it. Even if they can only come one day out of two or two out of three … book them. You will not regret it.

There is not one person who would leave disappointed in their menu .. 💯recommend.

From the quality, to the care, to the way everything is made and served … it’s just good people doing honest work.

And beyond the product, it’s the story. The cutest family. Real heart behind what they do.

The kind of business you don’t just buy from … you remember them.

The first and only wild game food truck in Virginia … The Harvest Hut has alligator, bison, venison, and more.

This is what “support local” really means. It’s community. It’s encouragement. It’s keeping families thriving and dreams alive.

We don’t just need more businesses … we need more people willing to show up for small businesses … that’s how communities stay alive, and still have the freedom to spend time with family in the middle of it all …. that’s the kind of freedom and balance that makes this country special.

And I will always say 🙌🏻yes 🙌🏻 to that.

So if you see them in town … go get you something different, try them out, and treat yourself.

There's something special about creating something with your hands.

As I made these shirts this past weekend, I kept thinking about the meaning behind 1776. It's more than a date … it's the beginning of a story that we're still a part of today.

No country is perfect, but I am grateful for the freedoms we have, the people who have fought to protect them, and the opportunity to gather with the people we love.

So before the fireworks light up the sky...
