With the conclusion of the Erie Canal season this afternoon, the Lyons Welcome Center will begin winding down as they prepare for their big move! Be sure to follow their page for more updates as well.

With the conclusion today at 6 PM of the 2026 regular navigation season on the Erie Canal, we too will begin the process of closing the Lyons Welcome Center as we begin the process of preparing it …for its new location!!

Yes, you read that correctly! The efforts the LVCX Committee put forward this summer in establishing a Welcome Center for Lyons have been finalized and we will be announcing more on our new location and our plans for continuing our progress!

In the meantime, we will try our best to keep our Welcome Center open during the weekdays for our continuing cyclists still enjoying our fall colors along the Empire State Trail and our year-round visitors as well, up until the point in the coming days when we are ready for the relocation plans to take place. We will keep you posted on our progress when that happens.

More information on our committee and its short but successful history can be found on our page. If you have not yet followed our page or our progress, please do so! We are restricted from posting information on some community pages due to their membership requirements, so any assistance you can provide in getting our news and updates out to the community is greatly appreciated.

We also thank you for your support in our efforts! We will have more news on our plans for the 2027 season as well as ways the community can participate once we finish wrapping up our already eventful season in the coming weeks.

Planning a w**e weekend out of Penn Yan? (pictured at the top right of the lake)

Start at Vineyard View W**ery in Keuka Park- just minutes from the village(pictured bottom left). It’s a fifth-generation farm on a vineyard-covered hillside, in the family since 1893. Adam and Nikki Folts grow about 180 acres and pour boutique Finger Lakes w**es from dry to sweet, with a panoramic Keuka Lake view right in front of you. The tasting room is open daily, 10am –5pm. It's an easy first stop, but a hard place to leave. 😊

While you're planning- here are some tips we'd give you:
Grab dinner at The Mansion at Keuka Lake with lakefront dining or settle in at Silverbird Woodfired for wood fired pizza. Sleep at the Hampton Inn Penn Yan on Keuka Lake then wander the village in the morning. Browse shops, restaurants and a walkable downtown area; while being minutes from the rest of the Keuka Lake W**e Trail.
