🎶 Who Knew There Was a Dance Floor in Antique Alley?

Apparently, all it takes is good music.
What a wonderful afternoon we shared! From timeless hits by Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Glen Campbell, Elvis, and more, to a few newer favorites like “Hereditary,” there was something for everyone to enjoy.

One of the highlights was hearing Zachary Mord perform one of his originals. Who knows? One day we may all be saying, “We knew Zachary before he was famous!”

Meagan Mord Lindner’s beautiful voice added another special touch to the afternoon, while Russell Mord shared not only wonderful music but also the stories behind some of the songs.

And then came one of those moments no one planned. Russell’s granddaughter took her grandmother’s hand, found the beat, and turned the aisle into a dance floor. Those are the moments you can’t schedule, and they just might become the memories we treasure most.

Thank you to Russell Mord, Meagan Mord Lindner, and Zachary Mord, for sharing their incredible talents with us. You didn’t just fill Antique Alley with music—you filled it with laughter, dancing, and memories.

And thank you to everyone who pulled up a chair, tapped a toe, or danced in the aisle. We can’t wait to do it again.

🎥 This Week In the Alley

Join us for an afternoon of picking and singing with musician Russell Mord and his son and daughter, whose motto might well be, “The older and the country-er, the better.” Russell performs old-country favorites, gospel music, and traditional hymns, and he’ll be joined by his children, Meagan Mord Lindner and Zachary Mord, making this a true family music experience. Russell grew up in Macon and now lives in Oktibbeha County.

Whether you’re shopping Antique Alley or simply looking for a place to sit a spell, pull up a chair and enjoy some timeless music while celebrating the sounds and traditions that have long been part of life in Noxubee County and beyond. 🎶🎸

Something about an old general store always calls me to stop, especially one close to home.

This one in Preston, Mississippi sits right at the crossroads—and people still pull in for a can of vienna sausages or a stage plank cookie.

Not much has changed… and that’s exactly the charm. 💛

Enjoyed a great lunch today at the Macon Cafe inside Southern Relics. Lunch is Thurs.–Sat., 11–2, and drinks are available anytime, any day. Come hungry… or at least thirsty! 😉

I’ve always wondered if I could play a pump organ. I finally got to do it last fall. Notice how busy my feet are. This is not the pump organ that is for sale in my booth at Southern Relics, but this is what it would sound like if it was restored. Enjoy.
